Happy Valentine’s Week!!! One more ranking challenge for you! Who is the best rom-com hero?
Get ready to make choices!! Who is your favorite fantasy? Out of all the films I am reviewing this week?
Anil Kapoor in Chameli Ki Shaadi
Sidharth in Hasee Toh Phasee
Irrfan Khan in Qarib Qarib Singlle
Prithviraj in Aiyyaa
Aditya Roy Kapoor in Daawat E Ishq
Harshwardhan in Sanam Teri Kasam
Nivin Pauly in Ohm Shanti Oshana
Vijay Sethupathi in 96
Dulquer Salmaan in OK Kanmani
Shahrukh in Chalte Chalte
Varun Dhawan in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania
Hrithik in Mujshe Dosti Karoge
Ayushmann Khurrana in Bareilly Ki Barfi
Varun Tej in Fidaa
Shahid in Jab We Met
Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Now, agonize, consider, search your heart deeply: Which of these fantasy men do you want to be your life partner? (yes, you can write in someone else that I didn’t list if you have to)
For me, Shahid in Jab We Met. Handsome, kind, super super rich. That’s the life I want!
Okay okay, if you are really desperate, I’ll let you pick another: Which of these fantasy men do you want to be your temporary life partner, just for fun times?
Varun Tej in Fidaa. He’s soooooo tall! And he can, like, lift you and punch people and stuff.
And if you are STILL filled with conflict, I’ll give you one more option: After your first fantasy man dies tragically young, who would you pick for your second-half-of-your-life partner?
Irrfan Khan in Qarib Qarib Singlle!!!! Even if I lose all Shahid’s money, I’ve still got Irrfan’s, and he is so charming and clever and all that. And we know he is good with comforting sad widows.
Hari in Jab Harry Met Sejal

Really? For marriage? But he’s not rich, and he seems like he might be a lot of emotional work to take care of. If I had to marry a Shahrukh, I think I would go with Shahrukh from Dilwale. Nice house and nice life in Goa, makes a good living, calm and mature attitude, and has a faithful little brother who I can order around.

Shah Rukh in Chalte Chalte because that is a real marriage. Ups, downs but in the end together. My husband is adorable but not as adorable as Shah, let’s be honest. I could never be married to the real Shah Rukh ( workaholic, moody, smokes non stop) even though he is smart and funny…but the on screen one…..

Aditya Roy Kapoor in Daawat-E-Ishq for me! A total dreamboat who can cook, is funny, rich but not overtly so (nice cars and a good house, compared to the mansion in K3G for example) and is just so swoon worthy every time he gets romantic in the movie.

Absolutely agree, it’s no contest. You get a man with the face, body, and hair of ARK (swoon!), mixed with the personality of someone with whom your marriage will always be fun, lively, enthusiastic, energetic, and full of little everyday adventures and giggles, in a loving and supportive package. Honestly the ideal husband & marriage!

But, you have to live with his parents! I just don’t know if it is worth it. Maybe if he agrees to move out and buy us our own nice house.

You are right, he is the perfect husband. And clearly willing to support his wife’s dreams, opening a shoe store or whatever else. The only downside is his parents. They seem nice enough, but I still don’t want to have to share a house. Now Shahid Kapoor from Jab We Met, my husband, his father is dead and his mother is estranged, so I get the whoooooole place to myself.

If I get two or more marriages, the first would be Ranbir of ADHM in my 20s for that desperate all consuming kind of young love. Then he’ll leave me around age 30 to Find Himself. After which I will find ARK of De-Ishq, whom I’ll spend the next 30 or so years in fun wedded bliss raising kids and businesses and hell (see my above comment for further details.) Then when he and Anushka pass on from unfortunate illnesses or accidents, Harry of JHMS and I will spend our retirement years recreating the unbridled longing romance of our youth in an unhurried fashion while traveling India and the world.

Yes, you are right, this is the perfect life. Except I might skip Ranbir of ADHM.

If we’re sticking to the list, it’s Irrfan from QQS. If we’re going outside the list it’s Surinder from RNBDJ all the way.

Oh, yes! He takes you to moves every weekend! It’s all I want in a husband.

So much more than that! A nice family home, a good steady living, long term fun friends (means he’s really a good guy and good at long term relationships!), and will support me to do what I like. And he can dance, which often bodes well for other activities. Ahem.

Well, he can dance after a lot of practice, I don’t know if you want to count on that.

Practice is good! 😉

Like, simultaneously? Or are you going to be twice widowed before settling with Nivin?

I have romantic polish soul and I can’t think about money when I choose my husband so definitely I’m marring Nivin. I can live in a village for him. He will grow good, clean vegatables for me and our kids. Good, responsabile person and good food, at the end of the day this is what counts.
If something would happen to him, Prithviraj would be my second husband because sexy and so intense (and also serious).
Temporary boyfriend – it has to be Aditya Roy Kapoor in Daawat E Ishq. Sexy, fun, cooks delicious food, and I don’t have to live with his parents. win-win

This is the perfect life, indeed. Although, would Prithviraj be a good stepfather?
LikeLike
He looks like a very good stepfather – sensitive, mature man. definitely one of the best candidates for being a stepfather from all your list.

I think Hrithik from Mujse Dosti Karoge would be entertaining actually! He’s light hearted but definitely had a more intensely crazy side. I actually like that kind of guy 🤣
But if I could also pic Dev from KANK hahaha
Such a bad choice, I know, but he’s funny and sexy. Although he’d probably be super annoying at times, maybe for my affair

I think if you had an affair with dev, while married to Hrithik from MDK, either Hrithik would be too dumb to ever know it is happening, or he would find out and slowly go insane in a very entertaining way. So, win-win!

I surprised myself and think that DQ in OK Kanmani is the kind of guy I see being a good long term bet.
Temporary life partner for fun times. Definitely Ranbir (for the travel and charm and to find out why even his exes still like acting with him and what the big fuss is all about) and then ARK, too, because he’s just the best in D-e-I. But also a one night stand with a heartbroken but needy Harshvardhan Rane, too:)
And for my widowed second chance…probably Shahid.

DQ in OKK does have a nice combination of cheerful and fun, but also reliable in a laid back kind of way.
I like how everyone thinks of JWM Shahid as marriage material, but no one wants a one night stand with him 🙂

I’m Shahid from JWM all the way :).

Right???? Rich, no family to interfere, and also a nice guy.

Aditya Kashyap from Jab We Met – every time. Not just because he’s rich, handsome, intelligent, and kind (his dealings with Geet’s family show that) but because he also has a wonderful, dry sense of humor 🙂 That’s a basis on which to grow old together.

Oh, I forgot about that sense of humor! You do something irritating or inconvenient and he just finds something funny about it. That’s the perfect man, right there.

Scrolling through your blog I always find the most intresting of posts haha
So marriage material for me would have to be someone that I could imagine spending my life with. Not just someone that is handsome or romantic but someone stable, with a good job, that you can have meaningful discussions with and that would be loyal towards you. For me that would be Shahrukh (Mohan) from ‘Swades’. I really love his intelligence, maturity and caring-nature. I also love the fact that you can have arguments with him as well as intelligent discussions. He also has a great job and is upfront with his feelings but still not loud and abnoxious about it. I feel like he seems boring at the surface but theres actually so much that I enjoyed about his character while watching the movie for the third time.
My pick for having a ‘affair’ with would be Vicky Kaushal (Vicky) from ‘Manmarziyaan’, because he is just so fast and crazy and chaotic and thats definitly not something I need in my life but I just love his energy and passion (and maybe even the blue hair haha).
My other pick would have been Shahrukh (Aman) in ‘Kal ho naa ho’- I would have picked him as marriage-material as well but because of his risk of dying in like 6 months it would probably not be the best choice. For me Aman is the perfect bland of Vicky and Mohan, he is intelligent, caring, loving and mature (when needed) but hes also energetic, spontanous, free-spirited and passionate 🙂

So, marry Anand, he dies, then you have a fling with Vicky which helps you mend your shattered heart. You tire of Vicky and dump him and start traveling the world, finding yourself in a small town in India where you meet Mohan. Marry Mohan, start life anew, believe in love again. Only downside I can see is, could you ever truly get over Anand?
