Saturday Small Talk: What Movie Should I Download For the Airplane?

Happy Saturday! I’m going on a trip! Not for 6 days, but this is my last weekend before, so I have to do a million things to get ready.

Today I get up, do the dishes, pack up my clothes to go to the laundry, walk the dog, lock the dog in his crate, go to accupuncture, stop by a store and look for trip jeans on the way home, come home, walk the dog, sit with the dog for a bit, then take the new jeans I have hopefully found along with all my other clothes to the laundrymat. Laundry laundry laundry, home, try to get on top of blog posts, pick up the house, put away clothes, go to bed. Sunday, get up, clean house a little, walk dog, my parents come over and play with the dog, say good-bye to them, put away clothes that have been airdrying for 24 hours, pack my suitcase, blog blog, bed.

And then all I have to do is last minute trash and dishwasher Wednesday night, drop the dog off Thursday and then go to the airport and I am FREE!!!!

So, what I need help with is filling out my kindle and my smart phone! What should I download? I’m looking for light silly books, and intense challenging movies. Or else really stupid TV shows. Somehow I can never enjoy silly movies on an airplane, but it’s a great way for me to watch a classic. On the other hand, I’m all about stupid TV shows and books on an airplane.

For instance, I watched Guide on a trip.

And I read Karachi You’re Killing Me (Noor is based on it) on a trip.

And Made in Heaven would have been a terrible choice for a trip for me, but Modern Family or Frasier is just about right.

With all of this in mind, what would you suggest?

  1. I can’t recommend nothing classic and challenging because it’s not my kind of movie (unfortunately). But I discovered Peranbu is on Prime. I heard excellent things about it and going to watch it, but I think it’s very sad, so not good for plane.

    I saw a trailer of bengali movie Drishtikone, and I immediately thought that I would love to see SRK in something like this. Not sure if other people would like it, but I or sure (and I fell in love with this beautiful song from the trailer)

    • I found a nice boarding situation, stay at home Mom and two little boys to play with. A little worried he won’t want to come home.
