I don’t have to go to church for the first time in AGES on Sunday. And, equally importantly, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga is ON NETFLIX!!!!!!!!! So I am going to do a last minute tweetalong/ReRun review. It is so good, I won’t mind rewatching it all by myself if I have to. But I am hoping some of you will join in because that is what makes the Tweetalong fun. Let’s all skip church together!
Tweetalong starts at 11am Chicago time on Sunday 4/7. That’s noon if you are on the East Coast, 9am if you are Pacific time, and 10am if you are in between Chicago and the ocean. For India, Europe, Australia, etc., I will let you figure it out for yourself. Use the hashtags #ELKDTAL and #DCIB to join in with your comments, or set up an auto search on twitter for those two hashtags to follow along the conversation.
Usually with these tweetalongs, I am posting a new tweet every 30 seconds, and other people join in every few minutes. I love it when people join in! Otherwise it is just like reading my review, only rationed out one sentence at a time. So please, if you can, join in and comment too!
And then a couple hours later I will repost my review, just to make it a full ELKDTAL day.
It’s really the best way to start your Sunday morning, you will love this movie. Unless you hate happiness and family and love and songs and sunshine and happy endings and middle-aged love stories and Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.
That will be about 1:30 on Monday morning for me so I will miss the watch-along. Life is too exhausting at the moment for me to stay up that late. But I might watch it in the next few days.

You should totally watch it! And then you can catch up the tweets after you wake up on Monday.
Or, maybe you will get insomnia and can join in live.

So jealous! Not on Japanese Netflix, but I’m hopeful it will be soon/someday.

This is not a good sign! The only people interested so far can’t join in because of time/access.

Oh, and it’s 1 in the morning! Obviously not meant to be, but you all have fun!

6 p.m in Italy, if I’m not wrong. But I’m still not sure if I want to see Sonam pretending to be an actress. I haven’t even watched Veere ki wedding because she is in it.

Do it Do it! I’ll be there on twitter, I can tell you when to close your eyes and mute the screen until she is done.

I just reached this last night. It reminds me a little bit of Father of the Bride, in terms of tone, comedy, family vibes. Or maybe, Father of the Bride is actually a 90s BW family film in disguise?! I’ll say that, unlike the typical “curse of the second half”, the final 30-45 minutes is worth the price of admission. It’s possible that no film industry worldwide is covering this issue from quite this angle. Might not be able to tweet along but can check in on tweets on Sunday. 🙂

Oh yaaaay! And yes, it feels like Father of the Bride, or any of those nice old-fashioned “family” comedy films. Also very Rajshri, as they nod to in the flashback. Which is what makes it so special, to treat the romance in this friendly happy loving family way instead of as something shocking or sexy.
