Happy World Ocean Day! All 7 Seas in Indian Movies

It’s world ocean day! So the google doodle tells me. And I am feeling lazy and need a second post to throw up, so let’s do this!

You ready for this? We are going to do every ocean, represented in a film song. A challenge!

Arctic Ocean (thank you SRKajol!), “Gerua”.

North Pacific Ocean (you would think from the title it was Atlantic, but no), “Columbus Columbus”

Indian Ocean (but a song from Australia!) “Salaam Nameste”

South Pacific Ocean (Why English in Brazil? Doesn’t matter!), “My Name is Ali”

North Atlantic Ocean (okay, close to south but still technically north), “Shut Up and Bounce”

Shoot! I’m completely stumped for the last two, you have to help me. South Atlantic (so, Western coast of Africa), and Antarctic. Any ideas?

  1. This is more South Africa since it was filmed there and there are ocean scenes in it. So South Atlantic song.

Another South Atlantic song since all are Moroccan here.

Otherwise I am stumped of any other examples of the South Atlantic and Antarctica is a complete mystery in songs unless there is an Indian song with penguins in it that could technically count.

    • Thank you! I knew there were South Africa movies, but I couldn’t remember which ones.

Boy, Antartica may end up being impossible! I don’t even know if there are any penguin songs. Unless we count men in tuxedos.

  2. What about the Indian Ocean? Doesn’t that count? One movie that featured the Indian Ocean was The Ghazi Attack, starring an intense Kay Kay Menon (I love his name!) and Rana Daggubati.- -who rocks a uniform like no other.
