Like I said, this is my “lazy and happy” series. And you know what isn’t a lot of work and makes me happy? Theme songs posts!
Songs of sunshine and happiness and long days outside, featuring Shahrukh. These are my top 5.
“Kal Ho Na Ho”, the one I already used in my announcement post for Shahrukh Summer.
“Phurr” from Jab Harry Met Sejal, all about being together and being yourself under a bright shining sun with no shame.
The first one with a Bombay summer! At least, I feel like it is summer. Is this summer? “Chand Tare Tod”
Okay, I looked this one up, sunflowers bloom in high summer. So it is a summer song, despite the sweaters. And it feels like a summer song, right? All happy and wandering and sunny. “Kyon Hawa?”
This one could be summer, or it could be Rohit Shetty losing his mind with color correction and fake flowers, but it FEELS like summer. Right? “Titli”
Okay, that’s my top five, what are yours? Should “Preity Woman” be here?

So happy! But not sunny enough for me. I want constant bright almost fake seeming sunshine at all times in my summer songs.

Not enough sex in your summer songs! In no particular order, mine would be Hai Dil Ki Baza Laga, Tauba Tumhare Yeh Ishare, Saans, and I agree with Titli and Phurr. Honorable mention to Suraj Hua Madham and the fanvid of Call Me Maybe with SRKajol. 🙂

Ok, if I’m being romantic or having sexy times in my daydreams, there are no mosquitos, the sand stays where it is supposed to, it is warm and balmy, not hot and sticky, and my partner loves me/is incredibly turned on by me, exactly as I am. It’s a fantasy, woman! We’ve had this conversation before though. I think you like oddly realistic fantasies.

Hard yes for Kyon Hawa and agree with comment above that Kal Ho Na Ho is too melancholic for summer! I would add Yun hi chala – driving, enjoying the scenery, philosophizing about life – perfect!

Great picks. I have not seen Veer Zara but in the clip of the song SRKs styling is sooo bad. The hair, the hooded shirt with blazer over it?! Then I saw the credit for his costumes went to Karan’s johar. Hilarious!
