Tiger-Hrithik War Teaser! I Have Many Follicle Thoughts

Well, this was disappointing. I was hoping for something a little lighter, but instead it is all very guns and black leather. Oh well, it’s just the first teaser.

Teaser teaser! It seems to think that the audience has been waiting to see Tiger and Hrithik shoot at each other and punch each other. Speaking for myself, NO! I want to see them dance together!!!! Hrithik isn’t on Tiger’s level in fight scenes, he’s good at movie fighting but not trained in martial arts or anything like that, I would rather watch Tiger fight a stuntman who had the training than some aging actor. And I am sick of seeing people shoot guns on screen, it’s just BORING. I want to see them dance together! I thought that was the whole point.

I also wonder what the heck this movie is going to be about, with all the grittiness and shooting and stuff. I thought it was going to be Hrithik versus Tiger in some lighthearted way, but now I am wondering if Hrithik is actually playing a villain? Or else this teaser is a fake out, and it will turn out they are best friends and this is all just parts of a war game they are playing together before the real movie starts.

But mostly, what is up with Hrithik’s hair???? Is that grey at the temples? And shaved sides and a bouffant? No highlights, thank goodness, but it still looks ODD.

  1. I am cautiously optimistic because I remember the BangBang! teaser similarly focusing just on all the action sequences and then I ended up loving the movie. So, I guess there is hope for this one too. Also, completely random, but there are no shirtless shots of Tiger or Hrithik. So, maybe this movie is less about objectifying them and really more about the action? I can’t tell.

    • Why would I want to watch a Hrithik-Tiger movie that isn’t about objectifying them???? Sidharth Anand needs to consider his audience!

And thanks for the Bang Bang info. That makes me feel better! Bang Bang had some great action sequences, but it was also so much more than that.

      • Oh, I completely agree. Especially, with Tiger and Hrithik. Hrithik is just so pretty and and Tiger’s isn’t really known for his acting so, yes, I want to see pretty torsos that I can oogle at and awesome dance sequences. Let’s play on their strenghts people! It also gives me hope that this movie is directed and written by Siddharth Anand. He isn’t a very gritty director/writer, so I am hoping the movie will be action-romance-fun with lots of pretty people like Bang Bang.

        • And Vaani Kapoor is the heroine! She is a great dancer, and not really known for her acting either. Seems like she must be there for a fun happy good time.

My secret hope is that it is a remake of “This Means War”, the American rom-com that flopped about two special agent action hero best friends who fall in love with the same girl and use all their spy tricks to sabotage each other. Wouldn’t that be fun?

          • I loved This Means War! That would be fun! Unfortunately, I don’t think it will be. I am just hoping whatever it is, it will not take itself too seriously and give us something fun to watch.

  2. I would rather watch this any day than Hrithik covered in mud and trying to act. I wouldn’t watch Super 30 if someone paid me. Here he is flexing his muscles and will probably dance in 4 or 5 songs. That’s more than enough.

Vaani Kapoor is such an eyesore that I really don’t understand how she is being hired for any movies. Befikre actually made me wince at times just from seeing that odd plastic mishap of a face. And Hrithik and Tiger are at war for her? Errrr?

I wish the title was not so heavy-handed. It sounds silly for a dumb movie like this.

    • Yeah, they should have named it “Bang Bang 2” or something.

I really liked Vaani’s face by the end of Befikre, but then in that movie she was supposed to play a strong striking woman, not simply “sexy” or “beautiful” in a traditional way. I don’t know if her look is a good fit for a movie where (possibly) she is playing the sexy love interest.

      • I feel unfortunately the same way about Vaani. I thought she looked fine in Sudh Desi Romance and then her face changed so drastically that I can’t get over it. Her face freaks me out so much, that watching her in movies is painful. I would have loved Befikre so much more if she wasn’t in it. Is there an actor you feel that way about?

        • Randeep Hooda! And Preity Zinta. I still can’t get used to Preity’s new face. I think if I hadn’t seen her before, I wouldn’t notice (it’s very well done, whatever she had done), but seeing her and picturing her former self is just weird. Randeep Hooda, on the other hand, something about the proportions of his face are just not right to my eyes.

          • I thougth it was Randeep Hooda but I couldn’t remember and for some reason I was confusing him with Miland Soman. But yes, there are certain faces where the proportions just mess with your eyes. And with Vaani, to me, its her face and her hair. Maybe I will change my mind after War.

          • Yeah, Vaani kind of disappeared a little after Befikre. Who knows what her face looks like now!

          • I haven’t noticed, but then I don’t think I’ve seen her in like two years? Another downside, the recovery time from surgeries really knocks you out.

  3. This is the exact opposite of what I want. Can we just ban manly gritty grim serious movies for manly gritty grim serious men who are covered in oil and dust at all times? How about that, censor board? Maybe we can ban CGI, guns, cars, overbalancing the bass in music, and the colours gray and black too.

Right now the Indian movies playing here are Kabir SIngh, Article 15 and Super 30. Why do I even keep up?

Anyway, maybe this will at least be homoerotic. But honestly there’s not enough gay in the world to make me see it.

    • I find both Hrithik and Tiger kind of asexual onscreen, so I am afraid there may not be any homoeroticism either. Especially if they keep stubbornly wearing shirts.

And I agree with everything you said! So tired of the dingy looking films. At least Arjun Patiala looks bright and colorful, so that’s something.
