Happy Birthday Katrina! (A Little Late) Let’s Look at Your Best Songs and Pick Our Favorites!

Oops, missed this! Oh well. In her honor today I will put up this post, and some selected Katrina reviews.

Katrina has been in a lot of good songs. Partly because she works hard and gets her dance steps down, but also because she inspires good songs. These are the ones I can think of that are definitely Katrina songs, not love duets or dance duets or anything like that, but Katrina by herself or leading the group.

This is the first Katrina song I really loved. Although I’m not sure if it was her, or her dress. It’s SO COOL!!!! “Zara Zara Touch Me”

And then of course the song that got her noticed and made her forever the top of the modern item girls, “Sheila Ki Jawani”

This movie is so dark, Katrina’s dance number is a real relief and release, “Chikni Chameli”

I do really love Salman and Katrina together. “Mashallah”

I don’t like her with Shahrukh nearly as much, but I have to acknowledge that this is a really good dance sequence, “Ishq Shava”

And the hat trick, the 3rd Khan (and the best dance), “Kamli”

This is a bit of a different one, Katrina is leading the dance but it isn’t a sexy item song, it is a full on family number, “Nachde Ne Saare”

And her most recent item number, which I am not terribly fond of while still appreciating the hard work she put in, “Suraiyya”

And the most recent Katrina song, “Heer Badnaam”. I love this song, because for once she gets to act, not just dance.

Which is your favorite? And which did I forget?

    • I was debating Kala Chasma! It’s a great song, but it felt more like a group song to me than a Katrina alone song.

  1. Were you looking for “best Katrina song” or “best item song of Katrina”? For me, in terms of impact in the film (which carries over even independently of the film), this is the best of Katrina’s songs. It is also quite a change of pace from the others you have posted here. I couldn’t find a version with subtitles, but maybe the impact is greater just from the music and the visuals. But I urge you and others to look up the translation of the lyrics to get the full appreciation.
