You ready for tricky choices? We already discussed his best costumes, but which is his best real life outfit?
Jeans and T-Shirt

Tuxedo

Suit

Pathani Suit

Button shirt and slacks

And that’s it! He’s a very controlled dresser in real life, suit or tux or jeans or Pathani or very rarely suit shirt and pants and no jacket or tie.
I’m not gonna ask you to only pick one, because that would be far too painful, but let’s see if we can rank them!
For me:
Suit
Pathani Suit
Tuxedo
Button shirt and slacks
Jeans
(I’m not including the cargo pants because I hope that if we all refuse to acknowledge them, they will quietly go away)
omgggg…. how do I even do this. Ahhh okay,
Shirt & Slacks
Pathani Suit
Jeans and Suit are tied
Tuxedo.
But really this is how I imagine it feels when a parent is forced to choose between their children. Only…. not at all maternal.

Interesting, your top two choices are also his least common. Do you think he knows how tasty they are and therefore saves them as special treats? Versus the jeans which we see almost every day and the suit which we see in most public appearances?

Well, as we’ve talked about before he’s definitely self-aware (without being a complete egotist somehow!) so he’s gotta know how tasty they are. But also everyone has different preferences. Though I’d like to think he feels the most delicious in those outfits, too, and thus saves them.
Although, I would think the Pathani suits are also for more specific events no?

I also can’t stop looking at these and am rendered basically useless now.

I think if he wanted to, he could wear a variety of Pathani suits basically all the time. Like, it’s not unheard of to see people wearing them casually every day even in my neighborhood in America. But it would be making a bit of a statement, especially in international appearances and at events with slightly more western dress codes. On the other hand, look how comfortable he looks in them! He should just do it. And they are clearly his preference whenever it is an event that requires a more Indian dress code.
And I love the idea of Shahrukh standing in front of his closet going “I feel pretty today! I’m going to give myself a treat and wear fitted slacks and a dress shirt!”

BTW ladies, I am totally stressed out packing and getting my house staged to move and in escrow on our new place and it’s a lot. I appreciate having this fun to come to as a great distraction. Plus like 1000 pics of Shah Rukh in my camera roll. 💗

Good luck! Moving is hard. Let me give you my wise advice that has gotten me through every move since college: as soon as you walk in the door of your new place, hang this poster in the bathroom:

Also of note, my 7 year old son and I are constantly talking about the cargo pants and he likes them, probably because every seven-year-old needs pockets for rocks, sticks and toys

I am sure that is why Shahrukh likes them too. All his little tech toys with easy access, plus games for AbRam, cash, keys, sunglasses, etc.

I have to say I love the simple cotton Pathani suit in black or white. Basically his Eid outfit. I’m a sucker for: jeans, white shirt, hair down. ( and maybe leather jacket)I don’t know how to post pics so you all can imagine. I like the plain t-shirt, like the Raees one without a logo. My favourite accessory is carrying AbRam or him gazing at Gauri. I hate the hair slicked back and prefer no beard. And yes, the less said about the cargo pants the better. This look?
And yes, I look forward to Eid every year partly so we can see him look all nice.

Concur with Romana mostly.
Slacks and shirt
Pathani
Jeans and t-shirt
Suit
Tux
I think it’s his attitude too. He looks a little too pleased with himself in the tux and suit, he’s posing. He’s chill in jeans, but intentionally chill, like look at me being chill. In the pathani he looks happy, and in the slacks and shirt it’s natural, it’s about him and not the clothes.

Oooo, nice theory. I think, tragically, that is also why he wears those horrible cargo pants. He’s happy in them in a kind of dopey Dad way that I hate.

I’m going to go with:
Button shirt and pants: this is scientifically the best look for any man because they can roll their sleeves up three quarters to emphasize the thickest part of the forearm.
pathani
any color of tux but white
suit
jeans
cargo pants
literally any other type of clothing
white tux

A friend just also picked the white tux as the worst possible! You know it’s what he wore to meet the royals? Do you think it was a subtle protest against colonialism? He showed up, but dressed in a wry commentary on colonial white formal wear?
Oh, and I would add to your scientific reasoning that fitted slacks are less likely to reveal bad points in a male figure than jeans, while still able to tempt you with the good bits. And the buttons on a shirt have an elongating effect on the torso which makes a male figure look generally better proportioned.

The science of menswear…aah, science. Ok, after much consideration I will go with:
1. Shirt & Slacks (absolutely shows off his physique best)
2. I’m going to split the images for Pathani suit into Sherwani vs Pathani…I’m not a fan of the baggy shalwar under the plain cotton kurta that makes up a Pathani…I luuurve him in a Sherwani suit (as in the runway look above.) On the topic of Indian clothing styles, I can’t recall ever seeing him in a kurta pyjama, which I think would be more flattering pants-wise. But I think it’s clear he opts for comfort at those less formal Indian events and likes the baggy pants. Having said that, I’ve noted that he tends toward bootleg /baggy fit jeans too…
3.Tuxedo (irresistible)
4. Suit
5. Jeans – perhaps because I think he opts for a loose fit and his body can definitely handle something more fitted, not skinny jeans, but just more fitted than baggy. Although they put him in more fitted jeans in JHMS and I loved that look. In related news, I read that he owns 1500 pair of jeans.

I love the baggy Salwar and Kameez look! It makes him look all cuddly and comfy like he is ready to cuddle. On the other hand, the Sherwani gives him shoulders, which is nice. But less cuddly!
Maybe the issue is that he goes for baggier jeans that seem like they should be fitted? If he wore straight up big jeans, it would look okay, but the style he goes for just looks like he has chicken legs that aren’t big enough to fill them out.

T-shirt/hoodie, with jeans or cargos, and sneakers are my favorite. He looks amazing in fitted clothes (though he can’t do really fitted slacks because, let’s face it ladies, he has skinny legs) but the casual stuff seems to express his personal taste when he’s not working the best. Occasional morning/vacation pics also slay me. E.g.

Then slacks and button shirt. Then Pathani/traditional of any kind. Then Western suit (those London ones you posted are so nice). Then Tux.

Do we think he has naturally great morning hair, or does he gel it up before he takes his “candid” instagram photos? Or am I asking questions I don’t want the answer to?
