Shahrukh Summer/Women Directors Week: Which is Shahrukh’s Best Vaibhavi Merchant Song?

I really like Vaibhavi Merchant. Partly because she has such a great name (really, say it out loud, doesn’t it sound nice?), but also because she makes really interesting song sequences that aren’t just about the dance but tell a whole little story. Oh, and also because she has a great professional website that lists out every song she has done, so I can actually post every single collaboration with Shahrukh.

You ready for a long LONG list of songs? Although not that long if you think about as covering almost 20 years.

“Hamesha Tumko Chaha”

“Bairi Piya”

“Sanwariya Sanwariya”

“Kyon Hawa”

“Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hain Kahaan”

“Haule Haule”

“Tujhe Mein Rab Dikhta Hai”

“Zaraa Dil Ko Thaam Lo”

“Saans”

“Challa”

“Jiya Re”

“Ishq Shava”

“Heer”

“Jabra Fan”

“Radha”

“Raula”

Okay, tough question, which of these is the BEST Vaibhavi/Shahrukh song?

    • Well, she did Humma Humma for Dharma and Radha and Raula for Red Chillies. But yeah, it does look like she mostly works for YRF now.

  1. Gotta go with Raula. It’s just such a nice story in itself, and it moves the movie/relationship along. The songs from RNBDJ are tied for second. Haule Haule is such a technical triumph as well as a lovely song.

    • I was leaning Radha, and I might still go for it because of the character depth brought through by the movements. But you make a good argument for Raula!
