I Have A Cold, Blech

I remember back when I was young, I would have a cold and just power through like it was nothing. And then I turned 30 and somehow a cold became a “I want to spend the day in bed” thing. Or the night, 4am and I am still awake feel achey and sad and burny.

Blech! Burning eyes, stuffed nose, achey head, low energy, and yet it’s not really dramatic or anything, not even a flu level of excitement, it’s just icky and gross feeling. Thank goodness I have a job where I can mostly work from home so I don’t have to feel all torn about missing work for a piddling little cold.

Where is my Madhuri to cheer me up while I slowly fade?

Now, in theory I could use my day at home to watch Peranbu. But that’s not going to happen, it’s super depressing. Instead I’ll probably watch Phir Bhi again or something else cheery. Maybe time for Ohm Shaanthi Oshaana again. Or if I can guilt my friend to coming over after work and bringing me soup, show her Student of the Year 2.

How can you feel sick while watching this?

Anyway, sick! Send me good thoughts and reassure me that my immune system/body’s ability to bounce back from minor illnesses will never get worse than it is right now.

    • Thank you! Gesundheit (the far less melodious German version of a similar sentiment).

  1. Same here on feeling the autumn cold slowly coming to make me sick at some point in the future. Happy healings! For me at least anything spicy is heaven when I’m sick as it opens the nostrils and throat with its heat, also warms if one is cold. Get well soon! πŸ˜€

    • Thank you! Stuck on a work call for the past hour and a half, so not a great sick day. Also, Albie Dog thinks it is playtime because I am home and keeps climbing on me.

  2. Feel better! Have you tried Shin Ramyun instant ramen? It is super spicy and super cheap and always makes me feel better when I have a cold. A slighter less spicy but richer version is the Shin Ramyun black.

    • I haven’t, but I do have a whole jar of chicken soup bullion from the last time I was sick, excited to pull that out.
