You know that thing in TV shows when a couple decides to stop having sex in order to make the wedding night “special” and then hilarity ensues? Anyway, following the same theory, I have done no Shahrukh themed posts for the past week. And it has been TORTURE! But doesn’t it make the return of Shahrukh content that much more special? Not sure, may not have been worth it.
Shahrukh Month! The loveliest month of the year! In the last magical 31 days before his birthday on November 2, I will put up a post a day. Last year I did just randomness, but I think this year I will return to the count down idea. So, 31 somethings today, 30 somethings tomorrow, and so on and so forth.
For those of you non-SRK fans, well, sorry! Regularly scheduled content will continue to go up along with the SRK festivities, you can just read that stuff and ignore my fangirl blathering.
But my fellow SRKians, REJOICE! The Glad Time is upon us! The earth once again turns SRK-ward as the stars align and the excitement grows and the world prepares for an enormous cosmic burst of joy at midnight Indian Standard Time on November 2nd.
Also remember, it is never too early to start planning your celebrations! I issued my “save the date” texts today for my annual birthday party and am already considering cake options. And should I put Albie Dog in my SRK mask? For FestiveNess?
Just a reminder, this is what we are all waiting for. I think my favorite part of this video is at 1:45ish when AbRam gets distracted looking at the birdies up above because they are more interesting and unusual to him than the thousands of screaming people below.
I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this auspicious month with you all. What perfect timing for my life size Shah Rukh to cone out of his packing box in my garage and start living here in the new house with us.
At my bday, Chaza and I fighting over our man:

More fun:
With Rishi of course:

I am so jealous! One of the lovely lovely DCIB commentators sent me an SRK standee, but it is only 2 feet tall which is not quite the same thing.
I vote you do like the 3 wise men at Christmas and move it slightly every day so that he reaches the table for birthday cake on the 2nd.

Just saw that Netflix will show the SRK Letterman interview in October. No specific date announced yet.

I don’t trust any of that 🙂
My guess is that it will release on November 2 or else next year.

They won’t just slip it into the line-up quietly. I’m sure they’ll announce a date and release a promo.
They only announced the Season 2 date two weeks before it started streaming. If they keep that schedule, we should hear something by mid-October if it’s going to be released by Nov. 2nd.
I’m guessing it’s coming soon because they have included it in their October schedule as TBD.

I’m hoping they surprise us and release it in October itself. If they wait until his birthday, there goes our chance to get a movie announcement on that day. No way everything will come together on just one day.

Diwali is October 27, maybe movie announcement that day and special on November 2nd? That’s how I would do it, say “a Diwali gift, next year on Diwali I will be appearing in ______”. That gives publicity to the movie and the holiday release date, and then the birthday special releasing would be something that his hardcore fans would be interested in more than a movie announcement which should bring in everyone.

That sounds like a great plan but I wonder about the logistics. The strongest rumor is of the YRF movie but no chance for it to come next Diwali because they already announced that stupid Akshay movie for that date. Why are we tortured with Akshay releases every freaking month?!
But I’m assuming a movie is coming soon. KJo recently said that SRK took a year off to evaluate but he will be back and his next movie “will be a talking point.” Gauri also gave an interview last week where they asked her about his break and she said “He will up and about very very shortly.”
Zero released Dec. 21. It’s been almost a year. He can announce something by Nov. and start working in January after the holidays.

Maybe he will announce multiple movies! One from Red Chillies for next Diwali, and another one from YRF for Eid or something. Or maybe he will release his autobiography. Or a special calendar of photographs. Or a website he updates every day with a new article. Anything could happen!

He had an entire year off to finish his book. But I don’t think he did anything other than play with AbRam. Sigh. That book is not coming for another 20 years.

At today’s press conference- SRK about his next movie announcement:
“I’m thinking. I’m taking a little time. I’m working on 2 or 3 scripts and as soon as they’re ready and I’m ready.. because most of the people I’m working with are busy.. so I’ll announce it myself. Regarding the rumors that are floating around: some of them have given me ideas- there was one film someone said I’m going to do Tarzan and Jane. I really felt like doing the Tarzan role. But yeah, in another month or two, I’ll figure out the time and everything.”

Heck, if he’s looking for ideas there’s the Jahangir-Nur Jahan movie I just wrote for him!

Hah, he hates period movies. At this point, I don’t want him to make movies that take a year or two years to make. Enough of that kind of time wastage he did in Zero. Churn out a movie in 6 months and move on to the next one.

Dear Zindagi! The perfect movie, two month shoot and it was great. Even JHMS was pretty quick I think.

Even a big movie like Dilwale was wrapped up in 6 months. I hate Rohit Shetty and his movies but you have to give him credit for being very efficient. Simba was also shot very quickly.
The last thing he needs is another Zero – wasting 3 years on trash.

Ted Talks starts airing Nov. 2. I really really don’t understand the obsession everyone seems to have with birthdays. WHY?
So now I think the Letterman episode will come in October – maybe Diwali? Ted Talks starts on Nov. 2. Movie announcement can come maybe on Nov. 2nd also or might stretch out until January 1st.

Blech Ted Talks. I refuse to try to watch it again. Even for his birthday party.

Nobody cares about Ted Talks. I haven’t watched a single episode nor am I ever going to start.
That’s why I think a birthday announcement can still come. Because nobody cares about Ted Talks anyway so it doesn’t matter when it airs. It might even help promote it. An article announcing a movie with a line at the end that Ted Talks has started airing if you’re missing SRK.

To be fair to SRK, I don’t dislike Ted Talks because he did a bad job with it. It is exactly the same quality and everything as the original Ted Talks. But I also hate the original Ted Talks.

I haven’t watched it to know what kind of a job he did. But the idea of Ted Talks.. no thanks. And that too in Hindi? No no no no.
And anyway, I hate all Indian tv shows. All the other star-hosted shows are horrifying also.

I actually like the TEd Talks and the Indian ones where really good with the added bonus of Shah Rukh’s comments. I can’t wait to watch it. What is going on with Letterman is a mystery. I spoke to a women who works for Letterman who said the parts filmed in India are extraordinary.
