Most Happy Making Sonam Kapoor Film of the Decade, Vote Here!

Sonam gets a lot of grief for her acting, but boy does she pick fun scripts and co-stars! Her films in the past ten years are some of the funnest happiest ones out there.

I Hate Luv Storys

Relaxed fun Imran Khan performance, great songs, competent intelligent heroine, and a hero who is properly punished for not appreciating her. What fun!

Aisha

Emma by way of Clueless, with Abhay Deol perfectly cast as the hero, and amazing fashions on display. What fun!

Khoobsurat

A Disney-fied love story for India, great Badshah Songs, dreamy hero, plus Ratna Pathak! What fun!

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

A fairy tale complete with sword fights and princesses and enchanted beautiful gardens. And Sonam’s heroine isn’t just a princess, she is also a dedicated hardworking charity head. What fun!

Veere Di Wedding

4 female friends who drink and swear and talk honestly about sex, and also love their families, have supportive kind partners, and just generally live full lives. What fun!

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga

A movie where the only romances are between two women, and two middle-aged single parents, with a warm family feel to the whole thing. What fun!

The Zoya Factor

A fun chick lit book turned into a fun rom-com, complete with a dreamy Cricket captain, a spunky heroine, and lots of sex positive romance and happiness. What fun!

  1. For me now, her character in Vere di Wedding was THE BEST! But my 13-year-old self would have watched her Disney movie over and over and over again.

    • I love her character in Veere Di Wedding! Trying so hard to be “good”, but not able to be happy.

    • But Zoya Factor has Dulquer being sexy and intrigued, and ELKDTAL has Anil Kapoor being The Perfect Man!

  2. I haven’t seen some of these,, but here’s one I saw recently that I think fulfills the fun requirement. Added bonus, she plays the title character, and the film is all about her. The film is Dolly ki Doli.

    • Thank you! I haven’t seen it yet so I wasn’t sure if it was a fun movie or not.

      • I would say it’s fun all the way through, unlike Khubsoorat and PRDP, which at least touch on some darker themes. I can’t say more, as it’s a film that must be seen without knowing anything about it. 🙂

  3. I watched PRDP such a long time ago and remember nothing about it except that Salman has an underground lair. Which is fun! But going to go with Veere di Wedding because female empowerment is more fun.

    • Female empowerment is so fun! Although PRDP not only has an underground lair, it is an underground lair that only faithful family servant Anupam Kher in a turban knows how to find.

  4. Khoobsurat no contest! I love that movie so much. I think might actually watch it more than Bang Bang. Plus, there really aren’t too many humans on earth more beautiful than Fawad.

    • But they wouldn’t even have gotten made with another actress! So it’s choosing between non-existance, and existence with Sonam.
