I’m torn here! Because I think OSO might be the best option, it has that light rom-com flavor that made Khoobsurat and Aiyyaa such hits with us. But it is only available on googleplay (or Hotstar) and I hate to make people pay for stuff. So then we have the other three options.
Student of the Year
Varun Dhawan and Sid M, bein’ gay together, plus Alia before she became a Great Actress, Rishi Kapoor overacting, great songs, and lots for us to be snarky about and also sigh over a little bit. Song below is basically all you need to know to make your decision.
Student of the Year 2
Only snark for this one! Which can be a good thing. Totally light, totally stupid, over the top sports finale scenes, and dance contests, and a WILL SMITH CAMEO!!!!
Ohm Shaanthi Oshaana
Truly great little rom-com, from the perspective of the heroine, a village high school student who has a massive crush on a slightly older boy who is running his family farm outside of town. And by the end of this movie, you will ALSO have a massive crush on the slightly older boy.
A Gentleman
Final option! Be warned, this is one of Margaret’s Favorite Movies. Watch with caution! If you don’t like it, you will be Dead to me. Oh, and it’s a silly action spoof.
I vote for A Gentleman, because you like it and I don’t mind a fun action spoof. Or OSO because I keep meaning to watch it and never get around to it, and I like the leads.

Okay, one vote for A Gentleman! And a second vote for OSO! And you carry extra weight, because you have been so faithful.

I’ve not seen OSO or Student 2, I never finished Student 1, and due to your adoration of the film I have seen A Gentleman, which I do enjoy. I’m cool with any of the options.

Well this is not helpful!!!! Although not finishing Student 1 makes me think maybe you didn’t love it. And maybe I shoot for a movie no one has seen? Which brings me to OSO or Student 2.

Thank God I’m on spring break this week so I can actually participate this time!
I’ve probably said this, you probably know SOTY1 is genuinely one of my favorite Bollywood movies of all time. “Varun and SId bein gay”, the way I feel about them is the way a bunch of readers of this blog feel about Hrithik and Tiger in War, I feel like I’m captain of the ship (Hrithik and Tiger are a close second for me, but Sid and Varun are my ultimate).
So my heart and soul is going with SOTY1, but I’d watch any of these. The only one I haven’t seen is OSO. And I love A Gentleman too, I’d probably be screaming the entire time about how hot Sid is and how mad I am about this movie failing at the box office.

Okay, strong strong vote for SOTY1, OSO as the one you haven’t seen. Hmm. And I do want to make you happy, since it is spring break.

I mean, I saw most people might be leaning towards A Gentleman, which would also make me happy. Anything with Sid would make me happy tbh.

Looks like it might be neck and neck for SOTY1 or A Gentleman!

I haven’t seen either SOTY so I’m inclined to go for one of those. But flexible!

I have seen all of these so no “never watched before” votes from me this time. But my votes go to OSO and A Gentleman.

Hmmm. If the rest of the crowd, leans SOTY1 (which might be what is happening, since it is currently tied with A Gentleman), would you be okay with that?
