Oh the excitement! Oh the adventure! Oh the variety! Which brightly colored good dances no tragedy happy ending Varun Dhawan film shall we watch????
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania
Only downside to HSKD is that it might be TOO good! If we all get caught up in the emotions and characters and blah blah, will we forget to comment?
ABCD 2
Less of a concern about this one being “too” good. But there’s dancing! And bad Prabhudeva acting! And the surprisingly good Shraddha/Varun chemistry!
Dilwale
SHAHRUKH!!!!! So sue me, I like it.
Street Dancer 3D
Abs make-up! Shirtless tormented dancing! A plot so stupid does not just allow for sarcastic running commentary, but DEMANDS it!
Oh, and all of these should be available on either Netflix or Prime, please check your local websites to confirm.
It’s a tie between HSKD and Dilwale. I love HSKD (It could be on my top 5 laminated list of favorite movies, and to me, it has the best sex scene ever!), but selfishly I am a little worried that if I have to step away for work or life, I am going to be so sad. With Dilwale, I love every actor in it and genuinely enjoy the film. Plus, it is so ridiculous, the comments will be super snarky.

See, this is my HSKD concern! It’s a legitimately good movie and people love it (including me), which tends to cut down on comments. For instance, there were way more comments for SOTY than for Aaina, I think because folks actually wanted to watch Aaina for itself instead of snarking.

But I snarked so much during Aaina, and it was such good snark! Anyways, I get your point. Let’s see what the people say, but it may have to Street Dancer 3D, and I can give a ton of shade to the the annoying lack of romance and all the missed romantic opportunities! Seriously, not even one kiss?! Stooopid!

Your snark was so good! It’s true.

I’m torn between HDKD and Street Dancer 3D. HSKD because I haven’t seen it in a while and it would be enjoyable to watch together. Street Dancer 3D though is filled with so much snark material and Nora Fatehi. They are also on Prime here with English subtitles. Just put a vote for both from me.
And Dilwale is not Netflix here and ABCD 2 is on einthusan.

Booo to Dilwale! That’s part of the Red Chillies deal, I would think it would be all regions.

I have the autocorrect and it still made me write that! I would put half the blame on it.

Okay, so now there is a vote for HSKD, Street Dancer, and Dilwale.

I just saw the comment that Dilwale is on Netflix, and my vote is back on Dilwale over SD3D.

I’ve said a thousand times HSKD is one of my favorite Bollywood movies ever, possibly one of my favorite movies ever, so that’s what my gut wants but I get your concern with it being too good. I don’t even know how much I’ll have to say about it besides crying over Varun and Alia, and it’s too precious to make fun of.
So Dilwale is my second choice. Partly because it’s an entertaining movie with enough to poke fun at while still holding that it’s not actually bad, and also because I didn’t really like the other two. I’ll watch them, if they get the majority vote, and also because I’ll probably wind up being super snarky about them. I did cancel my Prime though a few months ago, but I don’t mind bringing it back for a bit and then canceling it again.

(And in my area of the US, all are available on Netflix except Street Dancer, which is on Prime, so we’re good)

Okay, another HSKD or Dilwale vote! The poor dance movies, no one loves them. Although that dance might also be a problem, kind of repetitive to snark on dance numbers.

I will enjoy any movie, but I’m putting in my vote for Dilwale, simply because my boys might watch it with me. I MIGHT get the 11 year old to watch Humpty, but it is just a might. And though I need others to be “with” me to get through chest make-up in the morning dance movies, I’m kinda in the mood for cars flying through the air.
