Margaret theory: he’s “marrying” her during this song. he puts on a necklace, drags her around in a circle, is tied to her with thread, and then says “Kabul” at the end. Only thing missing is the blessing.

Really appreciate that Karan gave us this scene. Rani wasn’t just written off as the rich fiance, she got to talk for herself. And in my fanfic, she goes on to marry Abhishek and is all happy happy!

I agree. Which is why I feel Rahul married Anjali out of pity. If Anjali’s father hadn’t died, he would’ve dumped her and married Naina. I wish Anjali knew that.

I don’t see it as pity, I see it as honor. He wanted to marry Anjali, not Naina. He was willing to give up his love for Anjali in order to please his father, knowing that Anjali had her father and business and was in a safe position. But once he saw that she was orphaned, the only honorable thing was to take care of her. Anjali must have known all of that, from the way Amitabh treated her and that Shahrukh rushed the marriage right after her father died.
