Friday WatchAlong: Raabta! My Favorite Underappreciated Crazy Romance! Right Here, Starting at 3pm Chicago Time

I really hope a bunch of you can make this one, because I love love love Raabta and have been wanting to show it since the watchalongs started. But even if it is low attendance, I will still be happy watching Raabta all by myself. It’s just that good.

Raabta! It’s on Prime and Einthusan and it is totally delightful. Can’t wait to hear what you all think about it.

At 3pm Chicago time, I will start the comments off down below and then we can all watch and comment together. Fun fun!

  1. Golden Temple! One of the two Indian old buildings I can recognize along with Red Fort! All historic place should have clues in the name

  2. Lately my oldest has been holding his breath for as long as possible, we swim in ponds so I can’t see him underwater. It is kinda terrifying. So I feel for the friends.

  3. I don’t know why they had to make our hero such a horndog. Maybe because the heroine is cool and casual so he had to be even MORE SO to maintain male-female power balance?

  4. I love this bit. It starts with him stalking her, and then in 10 seconds they are back and forth like they have known each other all their lives. It’s not the usual romantic poetic love at first sight, it’s more like “best friends at first sight”

    • When he talked about how handsome he was, there was something in the way he said it that immediately made me think of SRK.

    • That’s what a bunch of people here said based on the trailer alone! I don’t see it myself, but apparently a lot of people do, so there must be something there.

  5. AAAAAAAAAAA!!! She kissed first! Love it. This is my argument with all the stalker romances, if she is clearly interested, the same behavior becomes okay that would be creepy in other situations.

  6. I may not love this sweater. I think short sweaters are stupid because if it is cold enough for a sweater, you don’t want your tummy bare.

  7. I kind of love that he is a banker. Not a born into wealth industrialist, or an artistic type architect or game designer, or even a super smart engineer. Just regular smart and out for money and a good career. On the other hand, her “chocolate shop owner” career is a totally ridiculous movie job that no one has in real life.

  8. This movie really gets the importance of showing the couple in love and liking each other before leaping into the angst. Romances where we are just told they love each other and never shown, it is so much harder to care about the relationship.

  9. HA! He hit on her while with another girl, then broke up with that girl and went after her, but she has an actual boyfriend! She is so much worse!

  10. Once again, its a commentary on the typical heroine! An Indian girl doesn’t have to be all confused and guilt ridden and feeling like she should be with the good guy, she can just feel trapped in a relationship and bored and not sure how to get out.
