Instagram Round-Up: Sid M is Cute and Funny, Varun With the Two Loves of His Life, and Gauri’s Got a Book!

Haven’t done one of these in a while, feeling kind of low energy this morning, so I thought I would see if there was anything awesome on The Internet. There isn’t really anything awesome, but there’s some stuff that is okay.

Sid! Who always came off as stiff in interviews, and hardworking but not necessarily spectacular in films, and I am beginning to think is one of the wittiest smartest guys in film, Who knew! I guess he was just saving it all for instagram. Anyway, love this quote, which sounds all deep and instagram-y, and then it’s from “Doctor Octopus”. HA! That is some dry humor right there.

Varun I already liked, his instagram is not the most exciting, but he does put up some nice photos of his every day life in a way he tends to keep out of traditional media. For instance, here is a nice picture of him and Natasha.

And here he is shaking hands with his dog. Who, forgive me for pointing it out, is perhaps slightly over fed. Use the vet recommended amount, Varun! Don’t trust the serving size on the bag!

And finally, Gauri’s got a book coming out! About her as a designer, not her personal life at all. I can’t decide if I want to buy it or not. What do you think?

Excited about this coffee-table book with @penguinindia . One of the best shoots I’ve done. Thanks @avigowariker ! @beautybyg_thelook @mehakoberoi @stylebyami @billysiddiqi @mileeashwarya19 @bottomlinemedia #Repost @archdigestindia ・・・ Gauri Khan’s (@gaurikhan) design journey started long before she took it up professionally and established her eponymous brand Gauri Khan Designs (GKD). It was through passion projects, a keen interest in interiors, and her innate talent to visualise a space that made her realise her love for design. She reveals, “I discovered my talent while doing up my own home. I realised it was something I loved deeply, but it has been a long journey that I hope to showcase through my coffee-table book.” # The pandemic-induced pause in our lives, not only made us homebound, but also made us realise the importance of physical spaces around us. Khan’s book hopes to lend inspiration, and also showcase a treasure trove of never-seen-before photos of her work, family and residence. She says, “The lockdown gave me time to work on this coffee-table book. It will contain exclusive project pictures and information that I feel could guide aspiring designers or those who are just generally interested in the art of design.” # Gauri Khan’s coffee-table book tentatively titled ‘My Life in Design’ is set to release in 2021 and will be published by Penguin (@penguinindia) under the Ebury Press. 1. Happy about some news like that 🙂 (Hardly have the time to visit ShahRukhs twitter account and just daily take a look here – even if only for looking at the titles…I’m astonished that life at my age can be sooooo busy 😉 🙂 )

    • Yeah, this is a “slow news day” on instagram, not even something cute like an anniversary post or a baby announcement. But that’s what makes it so pleasant.

    • He really does! The whole quarantine hair/reading/dog loving lifestyle is very good for him

  2. Sid’s dog photo is fabulous. Sadly, Gauri’s life in design is not of interest to me. Rich women always do design, it is an acceptable reason to shop as they only have one body and can only wear so much. So let’s design a house and keep shopping!

    • Yeah, I’m not sure how interested I am in Gauri either. If someone handed me the book for free, I would happily flip through it and then give it away to someone else. But it’s not necessarily something I am going to seek out.

      • Honestly, I think that Gauri is a creative person, indeed, and that she isn’t only about shopping but that being able to spend money supports her creativity.
She always had a knack for designing…and ShahRukh has a knack for architecture…and both love the same kind of perception of “beautiful”…so, a yes from my side that she developped her own professional style.
I’m interested in the book to take a look, not to own it, as I really, really like the way they kept the spirit of the old Villa Vienna and how they tried to have a protected life still maintaining a kind of openess. The blending of classical old and modern space already from the outside fascinates me.
And…well…I like that she earns her own money, has her own company with employees…I would say (and always thought it): Don’t underestimate Gauri…she definitely has her own story (and I bet she always was – and will be – a very independent woman…with a steady love for ShahRukh).
