Well, America has tentative good news today! I’ve learned not to count on anything over the past 4 years, but I am going to try to let myself be happy. And part of that is sharing my happiness with all of you!
I’m trying to set aside my scars and bitterness and feel free and whole again.
And not be afraid, because this is my country and my land
And also just being grateful to God
We should be happy that, for the most part, Americans have seemed to learn from their mistakes but hopefully will not get complacent. I’m just filled with joy. It’s sunny in Jersey right now. I had cheesecake for breakfast. Maybe I’ll come back with some relevant songs. But this seems apt.
“A little bit of intoxication in the streets, a little bit of thirst for the destination…the rest is first class.”

I don’t understand what happened. It’s not official yet, right? Because the news here is so careful in the wording in reporting it, I have no idea what the reality is.

It’s as official as it usually is, but yes, it’s a weird year so it’s not 100%. But to a certain extent it becomes official once everyone accepts it, and as more and more groups accept it, the harder it would be to change.

It’s really not official until 1:00 PM on January 6 when the election reports from each state are opened during a joint session of the U.S. Congress. But, with the percentage of the votes now counted, it is next to impossible for it to go any direction other than to Biden.

Well there’s going to be a recount, so it’s not official yet, but I don’t think anyone’s expecting a different outcome!

He already has the heart of many people…now, Biden has to persuade that he is apt to meet the needs… I always liked what Obama said about him because I believe that it was told in honesty.

No politics right? Bwhua ha ha! My own city is interesting, certain people pass each other by with wide smiles but so many others have a permanent frown. Our own vote tally is not completed, but it is more even than it has been in the the whole of the 16 years I’ve lived here. Meanwhile my sister had not actually left NYC yet, though she did move out of her house, and this is what she had to share: https://youtu.be/gNIaDo0zzwA

We were just driving around to pick up our food order and ran into a massive street celebration in Chicago. Very nerve wracking for me because I kept thinking people were honking because we were making an illegal left turn or something.

I enjoy the joy of all those who are happy with what seems to be a relief. I, myself, will wait till January…t h e n I’ll celebrate π
(It’s a little bit similar to all the nice news about future films of ShahRukh…My genuine joy starts with the start of shooting).

It was such a nice weekend. Took the 10-year-old with me into Manhattan looking for the celebration. My favorites were the rainbow lady in Times Square dancing to “Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead” and the random dude riding his bike around Chelsea with a megaphone shouting “You’re Fired!”
The Hamilton soundtrack in my brain has clicked over to:
The world turned upside down. (We won we won we won we won we won!)

There was someone driving around my parents’ neighborhood (hotbed of aging hippies liberalism) with their windows rolled down and “The Times They Are a Changin” blasting. Which distracted me because Dylan is now a born again Christian, but I guess the song still works, and if he’s really Christian, then he would be a happy about the election anyway.
