Wooo, our first Sunday watchalong! And a great sunny vacationy kind of movie! The perfect ending to my vacation, I am going to order fancy coffee/breakfast for delivery and relax and enjoy. And then go over to my parents and officially rejoin the “real world”.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara! Hrithik and Kat are hot like fire together, and also a really well-written love story. And then Farhan and Abhay are also there. And Kriti is too good for any of them.
At 8:30am Chicago time I will put up an “And PLAY” comment and we will just go from there!

I really really love Kat’s introduction. She isn’t dressed “sexy”, she isn’t doing anything super unusual, she is just being herself and some random jerk is trying to hit on her. And Hrithik likes her but is too shy to talk to her because he is a DECENT PERSON.

I actually believe this scuba diving as life changing for Hrithik. For his character in particular, where it is always about distraction and planning ahead and not living in the moment, anything that forces him to pay attention and slow down would do it. Breath control yoga could have the same effect.

I do both and nothing can compare to scuba diving IMO. It is like you are in a trance. Sometime about being underwater forces you to relax. I have a bit of Hrithik’s personality in this film so I can completely see why scuba diving is life changing for him.

HA!!! Scuba diving is AMAZING!!!! You will find the boat. You can’t go beyond 40 meters unless you are specially trained. And you are generally only going about 10-20 meters under so you can see the boat.

I could put up with the coyote/trickster bit if we got a little more of a sense that he actually down deep is wanting to help people.
Again, cahracter growth, I know it is coming. But I find it really interesting to compare him with Aamir in DCH, where even in the beginning we saw that his teasing and things hid a down deep protection an care for his friends.

I agree. When I first watched the movie, I hated Farhan’s character too. But then in subsequent watches I appreciate what he brings to the friendship. Life would be boring without him.

By the end of the movie, I feel like he lands on the good “coyote, trickster” zone. He uses his powers for good. But now I feel like he is using his powers only to entertain himself.
