In one week, we discuss “Where’s Your Hat Abe Lincoln?” A modern classic!!! You can read it in about 90 seconds. I recommend buying it new on board book and throwing it in the gift closet for the next gift occasion.
In TWO weeks, we will try discussing an Actual Book again. But a super light book, of course.
Ronia The Robber’s Daughter is one of my favorite books from my childhood. It’s soooooooo good. Our heroine is the daughter of a bandit chief, and then their rival bandit gang moves in on their hide out and she meets the teenage son of that bandit chief. It’s SO GOOD!!!! So much happens and it’s all well-written and interesting and about growing up and young love and stuff. If you like A Wrinkle in Time, you will like this.
Wild Strawberries. I just binged Angela Thirkell all summer, remember that? This is her most popular and most accessible book, a nice pleasant happy standalone story of a summer at an English estate between the wars.
The Indiscretions of Archie by Wodehouse. This is really more a series of loosely connected short stories than a full book, it is classic light Wodehouse, everything always works out and everyone is happy and nice and funny.

I agree about Ronia. It’s one of the darker Lindgrens, as I remember the creatures in the forest as pretty scary. But it’s definitely a good book. I may not be able to access our copy within two weeks, as it’s still at my parents’ on the other side of the country. But I think I remember enough to discuss it with you anyways.
I’m also willing to try another Wodehouse after the Damsel in Distress. I have no frame of reference for the strawberries, but if it’s cheap and an easy read, why not?
