DCIB Book Club: Cotillion in ONE Week, in Two Weeks “The Soul of the Croupier”!!!!

Oh boy, another Christie! This is a recommendation from Emily, a short story with a satisfying love triangle. And a nice little easy read after several weeks in a row of full novels.

Cotillion by Georgette Heyer

More of a comic farce than a romance novel, really shows what made Heyer special, her talent for dialogue and building characters and writing real true novels, not just little romances. It’s fun, it’s an easy read, and it’s easy to get your hands on!

“the Soul of the Croupier” by Agatha Christie

A short story, in various collections by her. Fun setting in Monte Carlo, fun little mystery, and not so well-known that you already know the ending.

    • Yaaaaay! Thank goodness it is not a Poirot story, I can’t imagine a single actor in India pulling off Poirot. Miss Marple, obviously, is Waheedaji.

  1. The Cotillion I ordered a week and a half ago has not yet arrived. I’m getting nervous. I’m a fast reader, but not that fast.

    • I am also getting nervous! I have it on my kindle now but I am only 25% in and I only have a couple days left! I think I am going to have to force myself to not do laundry or other Fun things and instead lay in bed reading a romance novel. Oh the tragedy.

Anyway, you can always read Dealing with Dragons instead. It’s super quick. Or Shards of Honor.
