Saturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Pack!

Happy Saturday!!!! I am in the first step of packing, which is “exclude all things that should not be packed”. I’ve done clothes, now on to books! Which of my books can I absolutely not live without and need to move with me to my parents?

Things to talk about!

Yesterday I somehow totally forgot about my friend’s birthday until the last minute, but it worked out PERFECTLY. Look at this amazing thing I found at Walgreens when I went to pick up my Mother’s day cards (by the way, you will be getting Mother’s day cards):

It’s Varun Dhawan’s birthday!!!! What film do we want from him next? Something arty, something sweet, something comic?

I think I want something comic. When he is sweet and it is good, it is very very good. But it’s also a bit hit and miss. Whereas he is reliably comic.

It’s Genevieve’s birthday!!!! Wish her happy birthday!!!!! And, because she has three boys, enjoy this song!

  1. Been busy with out and about, but I find freedom is not all that special. You have to wear real clothes, find parking, smile at people (until you realize you’re masked) and TJ Maxx isn’t all that interesting anymore.
Im finally caught up on DCIB (havent commented but I always read) and happy you’re still moving altho doing it in two stages can be rough.
I didn’t like Roohi (I may have commented on that already, can’t remember) I agree that Rajkumar isn’t living up to his kudos. He does indeed seem to be playing the same bumbling role over and over. Janhvi was OK. I don’t think she did the growly witch voice though. Either that or she did, and it was CGI’d. (Not the right term but you know what I mean) I didn’t understand the whole dog wedding thing and didn’t read the ending as empowerment. Yes, she does accept herself for who/what she is, but she just bikes off into the sunset and doesn’t DO anything with it. I’d have liked to see her go back and give it to all those fake gurus.
Enjoy today’s film, one of my favorites, watched it three times. Anil! I’ll be getting my car serviced (another recall) then taking Teddi for her first visit to our newly opened dog park.

    • When I took my car in, I could hear like 4 other people ALSO there for a recall!!!! Either there is a really big recall happening, or recalls are more common than I realized.

        • Uppena is the movie about a girl who discovers what manhood is. The boy is a poor fisherman and the girl is rich daughter of Vijay Sethupathi. You recommended it a week ago, and I saw it and wrote my comment in the last Wednesday Watching post (April 21)

  2. Like those boys, my children wear shorts. They even wear shorts in the snow. Constant shorts. There are pants in drawers, but they don’t wear them. And getting them into collared shirts is a challenge, but it does happen, about twice a year. My youngest is also the super cute ham in the family. But my boys won’t stand still long enough to listen to a woman singing to them.

    • The song does cut back and forth from the boys to the lady. I like to think that as soon as they knew the camera was off them, they all started running around in circles, and then snapped back into position in time for the next shot.

  3. This ad was released a few days ago. It has Amitabh, Jaya and Katrina. I want this short ad to be a movie. Amitabh and Katrina have such lovely father-daughter chemistry!!

And here is the Telugu version with Regina Cassandra, Amitabh and Jaya (this time as the in-laws). She is so beautiful!!! I think I will watch this a few more times. 🙂

All the ads are on YouTube if you want to feel joy and see all the actors who are in it in different roles.
