Yaaaaaaay, BOOKS!!!!! This are both such light happy summery reads. Those of you who are stressed and overworked (so, almost all of you), these will be lovely easy distractions. Especially Bradley, believe me, you will get 10 pages in and be addicted.

The Marvelous Land of Oz

Available for free on Gutenberg, or from your library, or super cheap from a bookstore (because out of print). It’s fun and childish and easy to read and has a kind of surprising take on gender that I feel like people should talk about more. Also, more people should read the other Oz books! Not just the first one.

Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Crusie

This is the FUNNEST book! It’s like a screwball comedy come to life, but sexier. Our heroine, a cute logical high school physics teacher who has 5 dogs, gets caught up with a hyper active cop investigating fraud who thinks her ex-husband Bradley might be involved. There’s a lot of dog jokes, great dialogue, great sexy moments, and a huge old Victorian house. Also, a protective cynical older sister and a best friend who realizes the cop is in love before he knows it himself.
