DCIB Book Club: Getting Rid of Bradley in ONE Week, Fantasy, Romance, or Children’s Story in Two Weeks?

Remember! Next Sunday, 5/9, Mother’s Day, we are discussing Getting Rid of Bradley! It is a super fun light happy easy addictive sexy rom-com book. I want as many of you as possible to read it, because it will make you HAPPY. And I just want you to be HAPPY.

Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Crusie

It’s readily available on kindle, from the library, from your local new or used bookstore, all over the place. And it is so happy and such a good time, I can basically guarantee you will want to own it so you can reread it whenever you want. It has dogs! And sexy funny dialogue! And no misunderstandings between lovers! And a hero who would be perfect for Shahrukh (high energy, fast talking, downright decent at heart).

But then in two weeks, what do we want?

I’m gonna let y’all pick a genre. Do you want sexy fantasy?

Or do you want straight up fun light romance book?

Or do you want a children’s book?

  1. OOOH! I have read this so I can comment on it! (1) Sexy fantasy or (2) romance in 2 weeks because I think we have similar tastes in both and most likely I will have read it.

      • I have read a lot of Evanovich so I have likely read the book you pick. I have no read Anne Bishop but I just looked her up and it looks like exactly the type of book I would enjoy reading and should be able to get through in 2 weeks.

        • My favorite Anne Bishop is a short story. Do you think it would work to have people buy/check out from the library a book just to read one story in it? And do you think it would work to sort of throw people into the mythology a bit?

Evanovich, she wrote some super light silly romances before she started writing the mysteries. have you read those ever? They also have dogs! (my taste in romances: anything with dogs)

          • I like mythology but not sure if others do. I can see how easy it is to find the short story and let you know, if that is helpful.

With regards to Evanovich, do you mean books like Rocky Road to Romance and Foul Play (don’t remember if there was a dog in it but I remember a chicken and a vet so there must be a dog in it somewhere)” If so, yes I have read them and if I haven’t read the book you pick, I will find the time to read it because I love Janet Evanovich’s books and they make me happy!

          • Yes Rocky Road to Romance and Foul Play! She had the best titles. The one I like best is the one with the woman who ends up having to do the traffic report for a radio station, and the guy who falls in love with her at first sight and adopts a dog to trick her into hanging out with him.

The short story I am thinking of is “The Prince of Ebon Rih” in the “Dreams Made Flesh” collection by Anne Bishop.

          • I realized that my comment is more appropriate here. So I am adding it here too.

I looked up Dreams Made Flesh and I found it online for free. Not sure if the site it legitimate but it was easy to find.
