Friday Watchalong: Veere Di Wedding! 4pm Chicago Time!!!

Yaaaay!!! And also “boo, einthusan”. This is a week where you really have to wait for me to say “and play” because sometimes it is hinky.

I love love love this movie! And it is Sonam and it is queer friendly, so perfect for Pride/Sonam birthday week

I’ll put up an “and play” comment at 4 (or soon after, Gods of streaming be with me) and you can all start commenting along!

  1. OK this is interesting I’m doing it on my smart TV through the browser and then when I changed from letting the browser load it up with HTML5 and clicked on airplay it automatically started playing so I have it paused right now but that worked for me maybe it will work for someone else

  2. Oh Baby Sonam! This is a terrible idea. although I think maybe picking a college for your high school crush is stuider than sleeping with your high school crush?

  3. To mark time, I think I started at 12 minutes after the hour. So where ever you are in the world, make sure you are about that far into the movie. If that makes sense.

  4. His family is so sincerely nice! They are A LOT and I can see why she is overwhelmed, but also so nice, no secret agenda.

  5. Gay uncle by marriage really wants his own wedding, right? In my head, they have a wedding the next year because they realise they want it.

  6. Nope. No one who answers a phone from his mother during a dinner. Recieves a call and ignores it, yes. Responds to a text, sure. But answering a phone call?

  7. OOH! Did everyone get that Nirmal means “soft” which is why Swara asks Sonam if she wants to have sex with someone names “Nirmal.” The dialogue in this movie is HILARIOUS!

  8. Okay, fantasy version you wish you could be for a day: Sonam or Swara? Bad girl or the most perfectly turned out good girl ever?

I wanna be Sonam! Look perfect always!

    • I feel like I am basically Sonam in real life – good girl, attorney, told my parents in my 30s that I was likely never going to be married (the fact that I am is just a random happenstance for which I blame my husband!) So probably Swara!

  9. Of course she calls her husband for support! And the sad thing is, I am surprised to see such a healthy nice relationship shown in films.

  10. Yes, but, the Gay Uncles have an AWESOME Marriage. Although I guess without social pressure, which is what Kareena wanted just living together in Australia.
