Saturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Recover from a WILD PARTY!!!

Happy Saturday! I am so tired! If I had my own place, I would order pizza and sit on the couch and watch TV and not do anything. But instead I am at my parents, so I will hide in my bedroom and try to avoid them and not do anything.

Last night we had a little work get together in my boss’s backyard. It was really really nice. Pizza and me and 3 co-workers and one co-worker husband. And then my boss’s wife and 5 year old daughter came down for bit too. Very lowkey and pleasant. BUT! Because I am a good person, and I have a car, I offered to give everyone rides. The party broke up around 8:30 when the 5 year old had to go to bed, I dropped off the first person at 9, the second person at 9:30, and got all the way back home and parked about 10:30. So 2 hours of party, 2 hours of driving, I am WIPED. And then I had to wake up early today to move the car to a better parking place. I cannot WAIT to have a garage.

Anyway, things y’all can talk about!

I’m on a little mini-graphic novel kick. Why are there so many graphic novels about Lesbians? Or is it just that I prefer ones written by women and featuring women which means Lesbians?

Amazon.com: Lumberjanes Vol. 1: Beware The Kitten Holy (1) (9781608866878): Stevenson, Noelle, Watters, Shannon, Ellis, Grace, Allen, Brooke A: Books

My boss and his wife last night were talking about how their daughter loves the Disney songs but can’t watch the movies because TOO SCARY. Do you agree? If we assume Bambi-Little Mermaid-Frozen 2 are too scary, what would you say is not scary? What CAN she watch (I suggested Tangled because I love Tangled)? My Mom suggested Singin’ in the Rain.

Dil To Pagal Hai (Hindi Music / Bollywood Songs / Film Soundtrack / Shahrukh Khan / Madhuri Dixit/Asha Bhosale/Udit Narayan/Lata Mangeshkar/ Uttam ...
Every child loves this movie, but maybe wait until she can read?

  1. Not scary Disney movies she might be able to watch:
    – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    – Mary Poppins
    – The Aristocats
    – Robin Hood
    – Emperor’s New Groove
    – Lilo & Stitch
    – Luca (Pixar, but still counts)

    • Oooo, Robin Hood is a good idea! The villain is more funny than scary.
