Thank you Angie for continuing to be our Ayush Sharma correspondent! Your diligence is appreciated.
Ayush Sharma, for those of you who are blessedly ignorant, is Salman’s brother-in-law, married to his much younger doted on sister Arpita. Ayush is from some miscellaneous well off family, got famous by being Salman’s brother-in-law, and then Salman produced a movie for him (Loveyatri) which was TERRIBLE. Largely because Ayush seems incapable of moving his face. Facial movement being a VERY LARGE part of acting!
Anyway, since no one wants Ayush, Salman is shoving him down our throats as the co-star in his next cop action movie, a big juicy role that Ayush will no doubt destroy.
Here’s the first song. Now, is it MORE disturbing to see Ayush moving and grooving his body without moving his face, or LESS disturbing than if he were a still dancer?
Oh, and Varun is in this song, making us all go “wait, why isn’t VARUN playing the younger hero in this movie? Wouldn’t that be so so so much better?”
The whole thing is very disturbing-looking in a way that’s difficult to pin down and reminds me of Cats, but also that editing and the way the dancing is filmed is an atrocity and that dance is so simple you could teach it to a class of primary school kids. I know the quality of dancing in movies now is notoriously bad, but I really can’t decide what annoys me more: the dancing, the editing, or the choice of shots.

NO NO NO NO!!!!! I was already annoyed just knowing that Salman is putting Ayush in another movie, but after watching the video I am FRICKIN FURIOUS because Varun can actually act and has incredible chemistry with Salman! I would have loved to have seen a movie with Salman and Varun. UGH!!!

Ready for my deep comment? Salman is 25 years older than Aayush, but he looks 10 times better , both shirtless and with his clothes on.

You can 10000000% tell they simplified the choreography for Ayush during his parts with Varun. And even then, Ayush is off rhythm and Varun does it so much better.
When Varun has more chemistry with Salman in literally one look than Salman probably has with his own brother in law. Someone should take one for the team and report back if it’s actually as awful as we think it’ll be.

Angie did it last time, which I think means she is the only person with the strength and experience to watch it this time.

What is Antim’s release date? And is it direct Prime movie or they are trying to show it in cinemas?
I was saving energy for Tadap (#RX100 remake) hate watch. It was supposed to release in September but was postponed to December 😦 If Antim will be available soon, I think I can try to watch it and still have enough time to recuperate some brain cells before Tadap.

No release date, but Zee is listed as distributor. ARGH!!!! So you may have to watch it just because it will only be on Zee5 and you are the only one who has Zee5.

I don’t have Zee5 anymore, but I’m thinking about subscribing for 1 month. Anyway I’m sure I read they sold the movie to Prime, because Salman has some kind of deal with them.

Oh man, if it’s on Prime that means I don’t have an excuse not to watch it!

I have a question – does Ayush know he is a terrible actor or does he think he has talent? Like does he know he’s bad and needs to work hard and simplify things etc. etc. (like Katrina is self-aware) or does he actually think he is great?

I think he must actually think he is great? Folks like Kat, and Sid M, and plenty of others only took roles where they knew they could succeed. Ayush keeps setting himself up for failure in a way that makes me assume he must just be blind.

I actually feel really bad for him now… it’s like you want to reach out and save him from the humiliation

I think he genuinely thinks he is talented and deserves to be in movies. If he knew how bad he is he would start with small roles in Salman movies and not with a big, expensive movie built around him. I suspect the movie deal was part of the dowry he received.

I’m sure it was. Along with the massive apartment and everything else. She should have stayed with Arjun! He really loved her!

You guys have already said what was going through my head watching this, but what made me giggle was right after it said ‘Let’s Reveal’, we behold Salman shirtless!!!

I mean… when was the last time Salman shared the screen with a young male star? Where do we think he is on male insecurity about what it would look like to play younger and stiff dancing next to Varun? Ayush, on the other hand, not an issue.

Ah! But! He also cast Amit Sadh opposite him in Sultan, and I looooooove Amit Sadh. So it is possible for him to share space with a talented youngster.

An update: I discovered a local radio station that plays Indian music across decades, and I’m like 85% sure they played this. Of everything you could play, this? Really?
