SHAHRUKH MONTH!!!! I am SO ready for it this year!!!!! Starts tomorrow, I don’t even know for sure what I am going to be doing, but I know inspiration will come upon me and it will be MAGNIFICENT. Also, usually I say “don’t worry, there will be non-SRK content too”. This month, I MAKE NO SUCH COMMITMENT!!! DCIB could very well become an all-SRK/all the time sort of place for the next 30 days. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to read it 🙂

      • Yes, YouTube, and there’s definitely some distorted audio in evidence when things are louder. (I’ve turned it down for the songs.) But everybody else sounds normal to me? I don’t think she’s dubbed–or if she is, it was an astoundingly seamless job.

      • I’ve seen “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke” approx. one gazillion times, and could swear it isn’t so high there. Maybe I’m just hallucinating.

          • It’s my favorite! And such good music! There had better be another song in this movie soon, or I will get the “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke” ones stuck in my head just from thinking about them.

  10. do you notice that SRK is used for the sincere emotional messages, but the other assistant is used for the REALLY sleazy stuff? Aditya knows that SRK has a purity he is lackig, and he needs to use that.

    • Yes. Shukla is evil too and Aditya uses him to unbashadly further his own evil nature. Whereas he knows he can use SRK’s circumstanses, purity, and ambition against him.

  15. Okay, doesn’t it really feel like Juhi likes SRK and is trying to read his behavior??? She did that double take and smile after his comment, and when she accidentally hit him she was immediately super upset.

      • But from her side of things, how can she read him? He came on strong, they had this great date, and then he totally disappeared on her. And now he is behaving like they barely know each other, and then suddenly dropping a love bomb.

        • I think he came out strong and at that time she might have liked him but they just met so she was also being practical given their circumstances. As their relationship grows, she starts to rely on SRK as a friend and a confidant, and someone she can just be herself with. Then he becomes the one of the only people that understands her circumstances and a shoulder to cry on. That tuns into love.

          • Nope, I disagree!!!! I think she is feeling flutters around him the whole time, but ignoring it because he is clearly not interested in any more and Aditya makes more logical sense. I think part of the tragedy of the film is that all he had to do was ask this whole time and he was afraid to do it.

(When she is the gf and doesn’t know Aditya is married. She might still have feelings for SRK here but she is also kind of charmed by Aditya and SRK doesn’t continue to pursue her. If he did, maybe he did, she would have chose him). Then he becomes the one of the only people that understands her circumstances and a shoulder to cry on. (Since she finds out Aditya is married). That tuns into love. From then on they are FIRMLY in love.

  20. So 10 minutes of SRK in Yes Boss was not enough to turn my friend into a fan. “He’s cute? really?” And yes, SRK needs more than 10 minutes to understand. Do I have to show her DDLJ or is there one on Netflix I can force her to watch? She is off, she doesn’t feel like looking at my chromebook any more.

  26. moon as a symbol of beauty – not something you find in western ideas. I still can’t quite grasp it. Moon face was never a compliment growing up.

    • A Japanese friend of mine in undergrad told me that her sister had called her “moon-faced.” I presumed that was complementary, so I said, “So poetic!” or something like that. Then my friend explained that, in Japanese, this apparently is a slightly less impolite way of saying that someone has put on weight.

  40. Okay, I think Sheela sincerely likes Rahul and is happy for the young couple because she is a sincerely nice person. and Aziz Mirza is a sincerely nice person because he gave such a nice character to the “evil” rich wife.
