Shahrukh time! I have no ideas. We need to watch something in his 75+ filmography, but I have no preferences right now. Well, Netflix would be nice, so we can avoid hinkiness but otherwise I have no preferences.

Oh this is difficult. My personal favorites are KANK and K3G, but they just don’t feel right for now. KKHH was a pretty recent watch and JHMS, as much as I love it, has been a DCIB staple. And ADHM has more Ranbir than SRK, so noooo.
I guess that just leaves Chaahat?

YES! You should totally watch it this week! I feel like I did my part by watching it with you in May because I enjoy watchalongs so much. This weekend is the perfect opportunity to subject others to it who couldn’t make it to the earlier watchalong and genuinely enjoy the movie!

My sister and I were talking about ADHM the other day, and we both decided that if Ranbir had died instead of Anushka, we would have happily watched the movie over and over again. And the ending would have been perfect! Ranbir gets cancer. Anushka cheers him up and is friendly with him because she is a good friend, but her feelings for him never change. She is never going to love him romantically. Since that is all he ever wanted but is never going to get, he has nothing to live for, and he dies. Audiance says good riddance. Anushka is sad about losing her friend, but then Fawad (who is SO HOT and awesome) comes back and she finds love with him again and moves on. Perfect ending!!
Currently, the only redeeming quality of that movie is the song “Cutie Pie.”

Because even though Karan loves us, Bollywood took away Fawad from us because Indian politics. I would have watched this version too though. And I might or might not be deeply offended by the mention of any song as preferable to Channa Mereya which is the best song ever, per the meme I can’t locate that says “Arijit Singh didn’t write Channa Mereya so you could cry over a song called Drivers License”

Yeah. Stupid Indian politics. I will forever be angry at it for taking away Fawad.
I know everyone loves Channa Mereya and it is objectively a better song. But Cutie Pie is just so fun and happy!

Please please watch ADHM on a week that I can’t join. I can at least tolerate (barely) KANK, but I despise ADHM. Obviously, I can also just skip the week you choose ADHM.
