Happy Tuesday! And it’s MY week to pick a movie! Because my Grandpa died. So I am using my sympathy vote and forcing y’all to watch a sappy holiday movie. Because I looooooooooooooove sappy holiday movies.
It’s only fun if you have fun/feel inspired to show up. So you do get to have a LOT of input on this. Including the ability to suggest your own ideas for easy to stream/romantic and light/Christmas films.
White Christmas
This is a beloved family classic for my family. Well, beloved for me and my Mom and sister, my Dad tends to roll his eyes and go “why can’t they just talk to each other? Not another misunderstanding!” Anyway, it’s got songs and romance and CHRISTMAS. And fun costumes too.

What’s Cooking
Gurinder Chaddha’s first big indie hit, the movie that got her the funding for Bend it Like Beckham. The rare Thanksgiving movie! 4 families celebrating Thanksgiving in their own individual ways, with some surprising connections. And a great cast, everyone from Mercedes Ruehl to Dennis Haysbert.

Princess Switch 1/2
My favorite of the Netflix Christmas movies! A baker from Chicago trades places with a Princess so she can live like a “normal person” for a few days. And then the sequel takes the storyline EVEN FURTHER. If we want to do full Indian movie length, the Switch 1/2 combo would be a possibility.

Or, anything else that gets people excited! It’s a Wonderful Life, Christmas on the Square, the Bishop’s Wife, Love Actually, anything that the DCIB community likes and which is HOLIDAY. Because it is MY PICK.
I am between White Christmas and the Princess Switch movies. Either one works for me because of easy access, but I can’t say which I favour more as a watch along. 🙂

Well, let’s see if anyone else is even willing to join us in this crazy idea!

I watched Barbie in the Nutcracker yesterday, so I am officially already in the holiday mood. Also, just bought 2 chocolate calendars because I can! One is Lindt and the other one is a Finnish brand.

If the baby doesn’t come out by this weekend (which I hope it does), I would be up for White Christmas or Christmas Switch. If I am still around for the watchalong next weekend, I will be in a very very cranky mood!

In my experience, the first week after the baby, you are a hilarious person as though you are high on drugs. Lots of “wait, where am I? Did I already say that? Did I dream what just happened or was I awake?”

Oooh so maybe if I do join part of the watchalongs in the upcoming weeks, I may be hilarious, or nonsensical. I’m going with nonsensical.

Yeah, lots of “does anyone know if I just fed the baby or dreamed I fed the baby?”

Oh yeah, you know what I’m talking about! Apparently there are apps now? Just so you can have your phone track and remember for you if you fed/diapered/bathed your baby.

Looks like White Christmas is the winner! Also, if Baby SRK hasn’t arrived yet, I expect Filmikudhi to be joining FROM THE DELIVERY ROOM IF NECESSARY!!!!
