Okay, now that I have a couch, I am feeling barely capable of writing a post on a TRAILER. It’s not even an actual film! How is it this hard for me????

I just want this to be over with. It’s been what, 100 years of teasers and buzz and leaks from the sets and allllllllllllllllll the wigs. Just release the dang thing already and let us all move on!!!
And, okay, the trailer suckered me in. Sports movies are just so IRRISISTABLE! And actual sports is so boring.
And then Atrangi Re. Three thoughts:
- Why does Aanand L Rai keep making the same movie?
- I love Sara, but I don’t think she has much chemistry with Dhanush
- Akshay is old and creepy

Why is Atrangi Re going OTT? Why would the makers not want to release an Akshay Kumar movie in theaters? Do they know it’s bad…so just cut your losses and go digital?

It’s been talked about for a while, hasn’t it? So it’s been filmed and sitting in the cans for a bit. They’ve had time to go “you know, maybe this wasn’t a great idea”.

Same here. And the wigs and teeth are like a complete no-no for me. Will wait for the early reviews before watching this.

I usually love sports movies but for some reason 83 isn’t working for me. Also I didn’t realize that it comes out this month. I thought it was releasing sometime next year for some reason.
Atrangi Re looked so cute until Akshay showed up. He really looks old and creepy, especially next to Sara. But yay, a new Dhanush movie!

I think the same about Atrangi Re. It’s all cute, cute and then I was like: Who changed the channel to Circus Tv? What is this creepy clown doing in my tv? Where is the romance?
Also – I could believe that a dwarf is sent in the space but that a young girl can be married to Dhanush and think about Akshay – never!

I was never interested in’83 and still not interested in it but good on it for me more of a comedy sports movie than a serious one?
I’ve been following the news on atrangi re for some time bc I unfortunately love Raanjhanaa and like Zero and I got the impression for some reason that dhanush had a cameo and I’d have to see akshay more/the equal amount of time but I’m happy that it looks like the opposite thank god. Sara and Dhanush have had more chemistry with other people but they’re doing better than I thought and I feel like I could maybe get attached to them in the story. Either way it’s more believable than Akshay/Sara. Now THAT I don’t understand! I have successfully avoided watching that man all decade but I’m afraid that the ALR + AR Rahman + Dhanush reunion is too interesting for me to ignore 😔

The makeup and wigs for 83 looks awesome tbh. Ranveer is unrecognizable. And the trailer did suck me in. I got emotional at the end when they showed the players one my one and gave their real names instead of the actors. That being said, I still don’t think I’m gonna see it because I just don’t care about cricket. Nothing can make me watch a cricket movie. Maybe I’ll look up the Deepveer parts because I love them.
Atrangi Re, on the other hand, I might check out. Didn’t expect to like it, but now that I know more about the premise, maybe. Sara is great, the best acting we’ve seen from her in a while. I’m obsessed with Chaka Chak. Obviously not a fan of Akshay at all, and him and Dhanush romancing Sara when she’s LITERALLY FOUR DAYS YOUNGER THAN ME creeps me out. I did read a theory though that Sara might have some kind of mental condition where she’s just hallucinating half of the plot of the movie and Akshay doesn’t exist at all, which is interesting and also will make the movie that much better for multiple reasons.
