Happy Monday! And Happy Hrithik Day! Such a lovely day. In that way only. In the Real World, I’m super sore because I feel down on the stupid ice and I can’t go on nice walks with Albie Dog because of the stupid ice and also one of my co-workers is on vacation for 3 days and I’m too busy to write even a Monday post until after noon. But on the other hand, HRITHIK DAY!!!!
Here is where you get to ask me anything you want from “when did you fall down?” to “why haven’t you watched Pushpa yet since it is on Prime now?” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of questions1
Now, question for you! What is your favorite Hrithik movie???
This is SO HARD. I think Bang Bang, but it barely edges out Mujshe Dosti Karoge, War, and Jodha-Akbar.
Favorite film with Hrithik in it: “Jodhaa Akbar”;
BUT favorite Hrithik performance: “Luck by Chance.”

Agree! I was going to say Luck by Chance. More layers than we get in a usual Hrithik character. But still totally entertaining to watch.

I watched Pushpa. AA was great, but ugly. And now that he is ugly, he’s hugely popular all over India. He did look best when he took all his clothes off, so maybe I can’t see past the hair & clothes. Rashmika was also good, but the role was nothing – so she turned a nothing role into a little something.
So why haven’t you seen Pushpa? And how did you fall on the ice?

I haven’t seen Pushpa because it is SO LONG. And also, I am cold and sore and I just want to do my jigsaw puzzle and watch Star Trek.
And I fell on the ice because Chicago is going through a really weird ice phase. Just the right combo of freezing rain and freeze-melt-freeze. Everyone I know is falling down, to the point of a friend reaching out saying “can someone give me a ride to urgent care, I twisted my wrist on the ice” and everyone responding “no, I can’t walk because I fell on the ice”. Anyway, I almost slipped again and again on the sidewalk while walking Albie Dog and I thought “this is so treacherous, the ice over concrete is almost invisible, I will go through the alley instead with the big snow pile ups!” And then I slide down a pile of snow and landed WHAM on my back and now everything is sore and Albie Dog is NO HELP AT ALL.
I think I found the last pair of ice spikes in the city of Chicago for pick-up, hopefully that works out and then everything will be perfect again and I can walk Albie Dog without riskign death.

Ugh, reminds me of Ohio Valley winters, and not in a good way : P Ice cleats definitely help, although it’s important to get ones that fit your shoes well. If they are too tight, they’ll want to pop off and it can be difficult to retrieve them when they skitter around the ice.
Where I am now (Massachusetts) it has been snowy but also very sunny/mild, such that we got nearly twenty inches of snow over Friday night but by daytime today almost all of that had melted. I’ve been sick and avoiding going outdoors, so this weather took me by surprise. I dressed up in full winter gear to go fetch the mail today only to discover that the snow was practically gone!

It’s so SUCKY!!! We had a cold snap last week and it wasn’t nearly as bad, I just layered up and kept moving. But the ice is like playing “floor is lava” everytime I go outside.

No joy, sold out everywhere local, and won’t arrive by mail order until Wednesday by which point the ice is melted anyway.

If you don’t order them the ice will stay a week. This is why my house still doesn’t have rain gutters. My husband says as soon as we put in rain gutters it won’t rain anymore, and we live in a drought state, so the drips on my head are my personal way of contributing to everyone’s welfare. In your case, useless ice spikes in the closet contribute to the better weather everyone enjoys.

This makes complete sense. You are right. The ice is supposed to melt today, but I will still order them.

Thank you for the spring thoughts!
Hrithik is a desi name, just a bit of an obscure one. There was a baby at my church named Hrithik! Which made me giggle every time I looked at him, because it was this fat little baby and I kept picturing Actor Hrithik every time I met him.
