Yes! I am creating an arbitrary rule! For the 4 watchalongs of February, ONLY MOVIES WITH LOVE IN THE TITLE!!!
Off the top of my head, here are the ones I remember:
1942: A Love Story

Love Love Love

Ishq

Prem

Mohabbattein

Love

Love 86! though nobody will ever agree with that one even though it’s a very fun movie.

This may be the month for it! We have limited options.

Honestly it’s been ages since I watched it but I remember it being fun and it has this song about future robot sex:

“They’re just kicking it on the beach,” I said to myself upon starting the clip; “this is neither futuristic not robot-themed!” But man oh man, you did not lie. I love that they show the swapping of robot heads so that there is no doubt regarding the fact that our heroes/heroines are now the robots.

Haha yeah. I remember having my mind blown when I saw it for the first time.

This totally makes me want to watch this movie! Even if it’s not picked for a watchalong, I may have to watch it on my own!

I recommend it! It’s fun with tons of songs and should be on youtube.

Does Maine Pyar Kiya count? It has Pyar = love? If so, then there is also Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya.

The Love Aaj Kals were the first that came to mind. Although I vote for Mohabbatein because it’s so terrible.

Didn’t we do “Mohabbatein” this past fall?

Yep!

So I always vote for Mohabbatein, because it’s one of those “good soundtrack, laughable plot” movies, which makes for EXCELLENT conversation. It’s not so terrible you’ll switch it off if your attention ever goes to it, but it’s definitely not good enough that you’ll be engrossed.

Bigger problem, will be be able to stay awake if we watch Mohabbettein super early on Saturday?

Nahiii!!! I hate that movie so much. It’s up there with Mohabateein as movies that suck! But you can do it, and I’ll just skip that week or join for the middle part of it which I like.

What’s to hate??? It’s so dumb! It’s like hating a puppy.

He kills himself for no good reason. Go get help. You can treat your alcoholism. But nope, he has to go die. It’s stupid. I makes me so angry.

Unrelated suggestion: It is Chinese New Year today, and this year is the Year of the Tiger. Maybe a Tiger Shroff movie? Does Tiger have any movies with love in the title? I can’t think of any. (I can’t do Saturday btw)

He’s got Baaghi? It has to be Saturday this week because I have a co-worker coming over on Friday. So we will save your Tiger suggestion for next week!

“Daawat-e-Ishq” (2014) comes to mind as a Valentines-appropriate movie with a “lovely” title, although it always makes me very hungry. I’m afraid to look at my watchlist because there will probably be thirty or forty theoretically eligible movies, LOL.

Oh, that movie would be perfect! We haven’t yet had it as a watchalong. Though it needs a warning: “Eat before, during or after this movie, because it WILL make you hungry”
LikeLiked by 1 person
No no! We definitely HAVE had. I can’t remember when, but I know we did because of the hunger thing.

Augh, I definitely wasn’t there for that one and I can’t seem to dig up the post. And here I was, thinking I had made a clever suggestion!

You did make a clever suggestion! And if I can’t find the post either, that may mean it never happened and we can still do it!

How about Premam?!?
Also Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha if you want something with Nani since the title means something like “Krishna’s grand love story”

I thought about Premam! But I may like it too much to do it as a watchalong.

All mentioned movies are good, but none of them beats PREM AGGAN. The best “So good it’s bad” movie ever, Perfect for a watchalong.

Angie, I watched Prem Aggan based on your recommendation a long time
ago (and because it has the snake dancer from Bride and Prejudice as the heroine). It’s PERFECT for a watchalong! So dumb. So fun!

I think there are lot of movies that qualify! Here are two I like: Love Story (with Kumar Gaurav in the 80s) and Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke (we should really do this sometime!)
