Happy Monday! Isn’t this exciting, one of my co-workers alerted us by putting it on the work calendar, tomorrow is 2-2-2-2-2 day!!!
Here is where you get to ask me anything you want from “how are you celebrating 2-2-2-2-2 day?” to “wait, I don’t get it, why is tomorrow 2 day?” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of new questions!
Now, question for you! What is your favorite “Tu” song?
I’m taking “Tu Meri” before anyone else can!
Speaking of 2. Here is Hrithik and Farhan dancing at Farhan’s wedding! If only we had Abhay, then it would be perfect. 😀

Today I discovered Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards exist and I have SO MANY questions.
First question is – is this award new because never heard about it.
Then I read it’s “the most prestigous award ever”, and I was like : ok, but then I saw who won and I can’t stop laughing.
Aayush Sharma won the Best Villain award
Kiara Advani – The Best Actress
Sidharth Malhotra – The Best Actor
Ahan Shetty – The best Debut
The best debut is what I find the more interesting because I have seen Tadap only few days ago. Ahan wasn’t terrible, but what I’m asking myslef is: were there any other interesting debuts last year?

I thought it was a new award too! I looked at the website and I get the feeling that they started them fairly recently in the last couple of year.

I think someone answered below. But the Dadasaheb Phalke Award is a super impressive national award, sort of the “Lifetime Achievement” for the National Awards. And presumably this is some new group that is hoping to confuse everyone by naming their ceremony the same thing as the National Award.

There’s the Dadasaheb award which is given to only one person every year. Then there’s this award where people just give awards for fun. The first one is very prestigious, the second one is a bit of a joke

I don’t think there were any interesting debuts, probably because everyone else thought they were being smart by not debuting in a pandemic. But they were wrong, because Tadap got so much coverage.

I’m really annoyed because I got a Prime trial to watch some movies I had bookmarked but of course they’re all gone from there now including a deeply obscure Christopher Lee movie I can’t find anywhere else.
I guess at least they have Swarg so I can watch that and see which cut it is, the problem with that being Christopher Lee isn’t in Swarg (though he should have been).

It’s so cute in context, and honestly a masterpiece out of context.

I’d go with this song!
Also speaking of Genelia, she did the lead role in Bommarillu, the tamil remake of it, and the Hindi remake. Can you think of anyone else who did the same role in 3 different languages because I can’t. I mean not counting Prakash Raj 🙂

Sridevi!!!! Although I don’t know if that counts, because often it was 3 versions filmed simultaneously.

I mean it is different when you’re doing them simultaneously but it’s still tough to do so! I remember Rakul Preet talking about how Spyder was so hard because couple of the dance numbers had slightly different choreography because of the lyric changes for Telugu vs Tamil.
But the thing that fascinates me about Genelia is that she had to sign for the remakes herself. I’m thinking wouldn’t you get bored playing the same character in three different times?

I know you don’t like Bhansali however he has the best music taste. I love the new songs in Gangubai:
Dholida sounds very similar to dholi taaro and nagada sang dhol. But the rest are cool. I also hate Bhansali and only like HDDCS (mostly due to Ajay). Yet I want to see this movie which I’m probably going to hate.

Tu Mere Saamne
Questions: Are you planning to watch The Fame Game and Gangubai?

Definitely The Fame Game! Seems like a perfect “zoning out while doing a puzzle” kind of a watch. Gangabai I’m going to need to work myself up to.

It’s admittedly difficult to navigate given that the word “YouTube” has a “tu” in it, but I thiiiiiiiiiiink the only song I have bookmarked that starts with “Tu” is the snake dance where Aruna wears socks on her hands:

I don’t think so. I’m more willing than in ages to see something in theater, but there isn’t anything coming out that really excites me. If RRR comes out on time, I guess I would watch that?

I’m so excited for Radhe Shyam! It looks so good with the grand, romantic visuals. It comes out on March 11th if everything goes well.
One really interesting aspect of Radhe Shyam is that there are two different composers (Mithoon for Hindi, Justin Prabhakaran for Southern languages) so the soundtracks are different. I’ve never seen this for a pan indian film. Usually the soundtrack is made in one language and dubbed into the other languages.

Oooh, I can’t believe I am just seeing this. I actually have a favorite Tu song and surprisingly, it is not Tu Meri. Its Tu Tu Tu Tutu Tara from Bob Radha Bol
Also, the movie will always have the softest spot in my heart because it was the last movie my family saw in India before we moved to America. I think we saw it the day before we boarded the flight. So so happy, so so looney. I love it.

“Jahaan Tu Chala”
“Mere Naam Tu”
“Main Badhiya Tu Bhi Badhiya” (I know we don’t like Ranbir or this movie, and it was whatever to me too, but the video is so cute)
“Kashmir Main Tu Kanyakumari”
But the ultimate, which I am claiming if that’s how this works and I get to claim one……..
