Happy Saturday! February is hitting me like a ton of bricks this week, so I am VERY happy to have a nice fun silly movie to watch on Saturday morning. Either through youtube (if you use a VPN, or live in Europe), or einthusan for the rest of us.
Woot! Rajkumar! I love love LOVE this movie. It is insane and entertaining in just the best of all possible ways. Oh, and it’s a Danny Denzongpa movie! And it’s his birthday today! So I would want to watch either this of Khuda Gawah and I guess we will save Khuda Gawah for next year.
At 7:30am Chicago time, I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and then we will all comment along from there. And inevitably we will get off from each other because there is a 6 minute difference between einthusan and youtube. Oh well.

I’m still on einthusan, like a loser. I figured out virtual VPN and everything, but I just dont like watching things on two srreens of my computer instead of TV and computer.

OMG, these OPENING CREDITS!!!! If it ends with “and Aruna Irani as The Witch” I think we all know it will be a good movie.

I’m glad they told me who it was upfront, because I could not have guessed. (She did get a few good shimmies in during her second interview with Beard Naseer, at least.)

This is a lot of backstory for the first 30 seconds.

Naseerji! Your COLLAR!!!!

It is so 80s/90s TV villain and I love it

In this film, both Naseers wear the High Collars of Evil, whereas in “Amar Shakti” Shashi has an equally high collar and is (of course) good. What gives?

I really don’t like Naseeruddin and even this Dracula cape and hammy villain turn isn’t changing that

Of course! It’s his BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Somebody (Filmikudhi?) had mentioned to me that Danny was in this and, given the date, I was all primed for him to be a villain. Not only did we get Danny, but we got heroic, second-coming-of-Sher-Khan Danny?! What a treat!

I can’t decide if I love the cape work the most, or the monologue work.

And Anil in the poofiest of all poofy shirts.
LikeLike
Anil and poofy shirts are such a good combination, no wonder he was always dressed like that in these movies when he was younger
LikeLiked by 2 people
So, Anil’s fight tactic is just jumping from one side of the room to the other and then back again?
LikeLiked by 1 person
The tactic of the entire movie was going back and forth from one capital city to the other. (Or maybe capital forest encampment, in Anil’s kingdom’s case.)

Is it meant to be a pseudo-Pathani thing, maybe? The shape of the hat, at least, if not necessarily the rope.
