I actually have a random 3 day vacation this week. Well, not random, I’ve been working a lot of extra hours to cover for co-workers so I am taking a day to make-up. Anyway, I think I am going to take a weekend to just have a break and breath, and move watchalong to Monday. Or not, if no one is free.
Monday night I am supposed to see RRR (woot!) so I can’t do evening. Morning? Monday morning anyone?
As you are seeing a most likely 2.5 – 3 hour film Monday evening I think you should maybe skip this week as well, two films in a day seems like a lot. But then I guess it is a holiday for you so if you WANT to see two films in a day I … actually I have no idea if I can do Monday. We were going to take my inlaws to some hot springs East of Death Valley for a two day vacation Tues. & Wed., and I had reserved two cottages for us for an amount of money my family simply never spends (thinking, gee we don’t know how long we have with Grandpa, lets live it up) – when after making the non-rundable payments the fine print at the bottom of the “Things to Know” in the confirmation page said the resort didn’t allow kids. No kids, in fine print, only shown AFTER making a non-refundable payment! Anyway we got our money back, but it took a bit, and involved many calls to the bank before the resort refunded us. And now the last place I want to go is anywhere near those hot springs.
It is our spring break. The 13-year-old is currently touring Washington DC after taking a red eye with 20 classmates and sleeping two or three hours in a hotel. The last time he was away from us for any length of time was the late summer of 2020 when we left him with Grandma & Grandpa and he saw his Grandfather have a stroke. So yeah, I hope this trip goes better. And now that the rest of us AREN’T going to hot springs on Tuesday, um, I guess I better figure out what we’re doing. Neither Grandpa nor I can really walk and we both get tired all the time, but we will have adventure!

Oh oh! You know what you could do this week? Hang out with my REAL LIFE COUSIN! My aunt just sent an email saying her daughter/mycousin is at a climbing festival in some town in California that she, my aunt, had never heard of and had to look up on the map. And I went, “I KNOW THAT TOWN! That’s where I send Genevieve’s Christmas cards!” Made me feel super cool that I’d heard about a place no one else in the family (except my very cool climber cousin) had heard of. Anyway, apparently there is a big climbing festival in town this weekend? But also, maybe that is true like every other weekend for you so you don’t care because you live in a cool climbing place?
Also, I did my first trip to DC around age 13, but it was a family trip not school. So whole different vibe. I was most excited about The Library of Congress because EVERY BOOK EVER is just such an amazing mindblowing thought. 13 year old will have a great time and will learn about History and stuff. And the rest of you, what about a lake? Somewhere you can still sit and not walk much and it’s pretty?

Hmmm if she likes watching kids baseball I’ll be at one of the City Park’s baseball fields watching the The Mariners play at 5 tonight! That is, of course, idylic climbing time. And today’s weather is great.

I texted her to look for a woman with 3 sons (of course this week you only have 2), and the response was ‘it’s so pretty here!” with a picture. Apparently it is very pretty there today!
