Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me the First Day I Go to the Lake House This Year?

Happy Monday! It is GORGEOUS today! Do other places have spring like this? Rainy, hovering around 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit, and then all of a sudden you have your first sunny 70 degree day and then it just keeps going sunny forever? Anyway, I’ve decided I want to drive up to the lake house after work, even though it hasn’t been fully opened for the season (no boats, no pier, no spring cleaning yet), and just camp out in the prettiness.

Here is where you get to ask me anything you want from “What is the best Mother’s Day movie from India?” to “what did you do for Mother’s Day?” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of questions!

Now, question for you! Nice simple one, what did you do for Mother’s day?

I had my parents over for our weekly Sunday dinner and, in a last mad dash of ideas, did this:

You have to zoom in a little, but it says “Happy Mother’s Day” on the steps. I did the Art, my sister bought the chalk, so it’s a gift from both of us.

  1. The weather is not good here lately but who cares? There are better things to keep me warm today:

  2. Well we took a spur of the moment trip to Disney Land on Thursday (we’ve never been). I woke up at 3:30 AM and got everyone in the car for a 4 AM departure. Spent the day at California Adventure Park – and now we all have Covid. I’m in a stupid romance mood. I’ll try to watch Angie’s birthday watch a long in a bit and then… I have a lot of time to watch a lot of TV. Do you have any recomendations I might not have seen? Spouse (who is still not testing positive) should pick up my reading glasses today, so I’m excited to be able to start to read comments again soon!

    • Ooooooo, stupid romance! Let’s see. Bridgerton was my COVID watch, very dumb. Paagal was really great, Angie was right. Radhe Shyam is trash, ignore it. You can FINALLY watch Bahubali all the way. Just Like Heaven was just added to Netflix and it is sweet. Also, The Young Victoria if you have access to that is one of my favorite period swoony romances. Oh, and if you want period BBC, Call the Midwife is AMAZING. Way better than Downton Abbey, with lots of slow burn romances along with the drama. Oh, and the Queens Gambit, and Outlander.

  3. Prithviraj trailer dropped. Needless to say, it looks grand (in the most ok way) but VERY unoriginal. I found so many shots that seem to be recycled from other historicals, the biggest being Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Jodhaa Akbar. Gives me one more reason not to see this film I already planned on not seeing.

    • For me,from the first posters it looked like Panipat 2. There are the same colours, the same batterfields, the same armours and Sanjay Dutt. But at least Panipat has Arjun’s beautiful broad shoulders and Kriti Sanon, who is definitely better actress than this young girl in Prithviraj. Also Arjun shaved his head for the role, while Akshay decided to keep his modern hairstyle in a movie about XII century king :/

The love/dance scenes looks nice though.

  4. Question:
I saw a video of Mahesh Babu saying he doesn’t work in Bollywood because they can’t afford him, and now I’m curious how much southern stars earn. And how big are the differences between Hindi and Telugu/Tamil wages. I remember reading about Kangana, when she was only starting, she went to Hyderabad to make a movie and returned with money and brand new luxury car, she couldn’t afford with her Bollywood pay).
