Sunday Watchalong: RRR! Noon Chicago Time!

Happy Sunday!!!!  I did sooooo many errands this morning.

Hopefully we start at noon! It depends how long the check out line is at Costco.

Anyway, all things going as planned, at noon Chicago time i will put up an “and play!” Comment and we will go from there.

  1. Nice lady and all that, but does she really not think through the whole “who is this little girl who is locked up in our house?” question?

  2. How does he KNOW he is the best dancer around??? Do they have weekly contests or something? And is this a garden party or an evening party and why are the men’s clothes so good and the woman’s so bad?

  3. What Kirre feels about the gora costuming, I feel about the pre-“Naatu Naatu” stuff in this scene. The music and dance styles are so exorbitantly wrong for 1920. Hurts my musicologist brain ) :

  4. Ignoring all the historical inaccuracy, I love that the African American (I assume) jazz band performers bond together with their fellow POC to defeat the White Idiots.

  5. I love the dancing down everyone else! It’s so silly and over the top! Also, anyone else thinking of the barn raising dance in Seven Brothers?

  6. In honor of the animals in this movie, Baby SRK has gone back to smacking the monkey and pulling the elephant off his Jumparoo. He says he’s still a baby and only has a limited attention span.

  7. Jenny’s pretty, but kind of dumb. Doesn’t question the young girl locked up, or the security measures. Did she never bother stealing a newspaper to read or something?

  8. Shelomit – I thought since I have you here, I should mention this. Since you are back (kind of until you have to go back) and going through a rough time, you should totally guilt Margaret into a watchalong of your choice next! And since you are my movie twin, I know I’ll love the movie.

    We love you Margaret! 😀

  9. I’m intrigued by the implied structure of this building. All of those hallways seem like enclosed breezeways (?), as though it’s a building that has had a whole other building then built AROUND it. It’s weird, but it’s actually very consistent throughout the movie.

    • I think she’s so smart though. She did a small role in Kapoor and Sons too. She knows how to pick directors and actors. And it shows that she is willing to take smaller roles if its with the right person.

      • Oh, I don’t have any argument with her performance–I just think it’s a weakness of the script that the female leads kind of filter in and out of it unevenly, esp. after interval.

        • Agreed. It is treacherous, especially for women and she’s being very strategic. Kareena was similarly strategic with her career and I think that’s why she’s still so sought after 20 years later and gets to have her choice of roles.

  10. I feel like this section is the Peak Romance part. All the deathbed vows and stuff. But maybe the ending with mutual rescues is Peak Romance? I guess it depends on if you prefer angst and action, or sorrow and sweetness.

  11. How is this plan POSSIBLY better than just breaking her out one day when she is alone in her cell??? This plan is INSANE!!!!

  12. The scene where NTR JR puts Jenny in the car. He does care for her! I really love this scene. It shows Bheem’s character. Does that make sense?
