Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me as I Enjoy a Day Off?

Happy Monday! I love 3 day weekends. I never seem to have enough time to do everything I want to do on 2 day weekends. Of course, that’s because my to-do list is always a 3rd again too long. If I had 3 day weekends all the time, I would get used to it and then my to-do list would expand and I would be right back in the same place. Anyway, I’m over half done making fence panels and I invited friends over to help me install them, I’m gonna hang my curtain rod today, I killed all the Hastas in the front yard (DEATH TO HASTAS!!!), and I finished reading Anne of the Island and did the watchalong with y’all.

Here is where you get to ask me anything you want from “why do you hate Hastas?” to “what movies are you looking forward to releasing?” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of new questions!!!

Now, question for you! Yesterday we watched RRR and were talking about how NTR’s “Bheem” character is so sweet and kind and cuddly versus Ram Charan’s handsome “Ram” character. Which made me think about how often the “hero’s friend” character is nicer and charming-er and sweeter than the Hero. So, Who is Your Favorite Sweet Friend Character?

Some examples would be, Veeru in Sholay, Chunky in Tezaab, Mithun in the original Agneepath, Pappu in Om Shanti Om, Anupam in Lamhe, Aditya Roy Kapoor in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and so on.

Oooo! Looking at that list, I have to say my favorite is Anupam in Lamhe! He’s so sweet and understanding and such a good friend to all. And all he wants is friendship! Just to take care of everyone around and make them all as happy as he is.

Runner up, Shashi in Trishul. So happy to be the second brother! So easy going in every way!

  1. What books would you recommend that have a satisfying romance arc? This is inspired by Anon’s comment on the Anne of the Island post where they said Daddy Long Legs had more flirting / push pull/overall romance between the leads, and I agree!
So I can add Dear Enemy, Rose in Bloom, Scarlet Pimpernel, Shirley, Persuasion to the list… Perhaps even Jane Eyre and Rebecca. Can you think of others?

  2. My choice of a dear friend would be Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub Khan in Raees and also in Zero. Although he hasn’t been what one may call a ‘successful’ actor, he is so much endearing when he plays the compagnion that one can feel the friendship.

  3. I feel like the sweet cuddly friend is a character Vinay Pathak plays a lot, and my favorite would be him in Rab Ne. My other favorite character like this, although not exactly, is Amitabh in Anand. Rajesh just goes to town in that performance and Amitabh is a great foil.
