Continue readingHappy Monday! I am WORN OUT. Yesterday I went to a pumpkin patch with my friends and their friends and their friends’ 6 year old. Did you know 6 year olds don’t have an off switch? He just kept going and going and going and finally we left at 7:30 and he was still asking to ride the merry go round one more time and/or go on the jump pillow.

The cleaning people are here, but it’s only one person instead of two like I’ve had before, which means it will take twice as long and also I feel weird not interacting, versus when it was two chipper people talking to each other. My co-worker was supposed to come over for training and canceled at the last minute. And there are supposed to be thunderstorms this afternoon, but right now there isn’t a cloud in the sky. It’s all strange and I don’t like it.
Continue readingHappy Monday! I love 3 day weekends. I never seem to have enough time to do everything I want to do on 2 day weekends. Of course, that’s because my to-do list is always a 3rd again too long. If I had 3 day weekends all the time, I would get used to it and then my to-do list would expand and I would be right back in the same place. Anyway, I’m over half done making fence panels and I invited friends over to help me install them, I’m gonna hang my curtain rod today, I killed all the Hastas in the front yard (DEATH TO HASTAS!!!), and I finished reading Anne of the Island and did the watchalong with y’all.

And I also dropped off a birthday present, got a massage, got a pedicure, made dinner for my parents, did two loads of recycling, organized the massive number of fence posts I need to assemble, and read the instructions for a lavender-in-a-jar planting project. And now I am at work, being all unproductive.

Right now, daylight savings hasn’t ended so I am waking up in the dark, and in Chicago it’s been overcast for two days now and looking to stay that way. So I am BLEAK. I’m back at my parents and there is a drive through Starbucks a couple blocks away from them, so when I woke up early this morning, I thought “I’m gonna walk the dog over to my car and drive to Starbucks and treat myself”. The Starbucks lady said my dog was cute, so it was an all around successful adventure.
