Discussion Post: Which of These Three Simple Pleasures is Best? And Which of These Three SRK Pleasures?

Let’s chat! I ran around doing a million things yesterday and at the end of the day I came home all tired out and debating which was most exciting/tempting of these three options.

  1. Getting into bed. Cool sheets, heavy blanket, soft pillow, all cozy
  2. Shower. Washing the day away, body returning to core temperature, hydrating.
  3. Clean dry socks. Is there anything worse than wet feet? And anything better than putting on a nice dry pair of socks?

And bonus SRK themed version:

Listening to SRK’s voice

    Watching him dance

Watching him smile at the camera/you

I think for me, it’s the smile.

Oh, and a cool sheets bed.

    2. For me it is a nice hot shower in a cold day. There is nothing better to make you feel relaxed and happy. I also love to have a shower especially if I go swimming and it is chilly outside; the warm water hitting your skin just has a different pleasure.
I have to be honest the dimples is what really always makes me smile. He just feels so safe when you see him smile.

    4. Bed! And SRK dancing (but i don’t like the scruffy vibe of ishq kamina) followed by SRK smile. How about a third though – SRK roasting reporters in an interview with his wit – that is the best of all!!!

Sorry no subtitles 😦 but maybe YouTube auto live captions on the web might work on the computer?

    7. 1 and 3 for sure, but definitely smiling while dancing!

Unrelated discussion question for Margaret and all: What are your preferred filmi news blogs? I get so put off by all of the pop-ups on most sites. I used to like Bollywood Life and Pinkvilla for the gossip, but usually only actually read Film Companion regularly.

By the way, Film Companion has a really interesting feature where they asked a whole bunch of Indian film industry folks their top 5 films. Really, really interesting. Sara Ali Khan’s picks were the ones I could relate to the most but it definitely shows how many classics, especially non-Hindi films, I need to see still. https://www.filmcompanion.in/best-indian-films-forever/2023

      • I usually stick with Bollywoodhungama. They don’t get the gossipy crazy news, but they seem to be the first stop for PR teams so they have all the official stories as soon as anyone else. They are also very dully written and occasionally inaccurate (with stuff like dates and names), but I would rather skim their headlines and get the gist of the stories then go to Pinkvilla and have the craziest possible version of reality.

    8. Coming out of the shower and getting to cuddle up in your freshly made bed, wearing your best comfy clothes and watching your favorite movie. Falling asleep during a reasonable time and having some hours to yourself to slowly glide into sleep instead of just falling asleep out of pure exhaustion. Knowing that you have the whole weekend to yourself, getting to relax and not having to stress about doing anything else. Getting into the cinema, sitting down in your saved seat, being early enough for all the commercials instead of having to hurry, being barely able to make it to seeing the film, scared of missing the first minutes. . And the most comforting thing about Shah Rukh is also definitely his smile to me as well as his little sarcastic jokes and the googly eyed, mischievous way he looks at his chosen love interest. I also just find it in general comforting to sing a long to all his classics and nostalgically follow the dance steps.
