30 Days of SRK 17: 17 SRK Wishes for Filmikudhi’s New Daughter

Filmikudhi has a daughter! Freshly arrived in the world just hours ago, ready to join her pre-existing child Mr. Toddles! This is very exciting of course, as are all babies, and especially DCIB babies. And this also gave me an idea for an SRK post! Which is good, because it’s day 17 and I am running out of ideas.

If I put on my “what would SRK say/do” hat, these are the 17 wishes I would make for this new little baby:

  1. Lusty joyous healthiness
  2. Loving parents who are always there
  3. A big brother that watches over you
  4. A taste for fine clothing
  5. A sense of rhythm
  6. A sense of humor
  7. Good eyebrows
  8. Thick hair
  9. Patience with stupid parents
  10. Ability to communicate as best as possible
  11. Curly hair
  12. Dimples
  13. An easy digestion
  14. No insomnia
  15. Constant happiness
  16. Be singing and talking even before you have words
  17. Be dancing even before you can walk

What are your DCIB baby wishes? As SRK, or as yourself?

  5. Congratulations so much Filmikudhi!!! So happy for you 🤗🤗🤗

    My wishes:

    1. A life full of lovely discoveries!
    2. Lots of love and laughter

    (3. I would have added “that your parents will never forget the look on your face the first time you sample chocolate” but then realized not every kid may enjoy chocolate 😅 When my kiddo had her first bite of it her eyes literally turned into saucers – almost like her timeline of her life got split into “before I tasted chocolate” and “after I tasted chocolate”).

    • Thank you! I love the chocolate story! This was my sister when she tasted mango icecream for the first time! She must have been 1.5 or so and her eyes bugged out of her head when she tasted it!

  6. Thank you, Margaret for this lovely post! I feel like I just gave birth to Arora from Sleeping Beauty and all the fairies are coming over to grant her the sweetest wishes. Also, having watched and loved Malificent, I firmly believe that all the fairies wished Arora well!

  7. All the best with this new little wonder in your world, filmikudhi 🙂

There could never be enough good wishes, so adding to all already mentioned a charming smile that makes melt away all sorrows and bad feelings, an unperturbed health because of a strong immune system and an agile mind which gratifies all of you with surprising ideas!

    Warm hug!

    • We always joke that our son gets away with a lot because of his charming smile and gregarious laugh! I hope the same for my daughter!

  8. Congratulations, filmikudhi. I want to wish your Sweety that she’s as happy and wonderful as our Baby. So I’ve been thinking which of her traits might be most important for that. I think it’s her firm conviction that the world is good and everyone loves her, because so far that’s turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. So that’s what I want for your girl, too.

  9. Congrats Filmikudhi! I can’t deny my slight twinge of jealousy; I’m so happy you get both genders.

    I wish your child:
-A never-ending sense of joy and wonder in the world around them.
-An ease in life’s transitions big and small
-A fascination in the small details around her, be they the grain patterns in a wooden door or the way a beetle walks.
    -A beautiful smile
    -Strong Teeth and Bones
    -20/20 vision
    -Excellent hearing
    -Empathy
    -Friendships
    -An analyitical mind
    -A love of physical activity
    -The ability to spell
    -Sleep
    -A love of food
    -Easy bowel movements
-The knowledge that she is loved
    -The knowledge that she loves

    Congratulations again!

    • Mr. Toddles hasn’t met her yet. My dad and my sister are taking care of him and he would have thrown a fit if he met her in the hospital and then had to leave to go home without mom and dad. So for their sanity, we will introduce him to her when we get home on Monday!

  10. Sooo happy that my movie twin and her daughter are doing well : D Here is a traditional Karaite blessing for a beloved child, although I didn’t have the time to change the grammar from masculine to feminine: “Yedid-hashem yishkon lavetahh ghalav, hhofef ghalav kal-hayom, uveyn ketefav shakhen.” It means for your baby to be so safe that it’s like God is carrying her piggyback every day (“uveyn ketefav shakhen” = “between God’s shoulders”!).
