30 Days of SRK 23: 4 Movies That Came Out the Year I Was 23

So I have a wee bit of a headache and also I am lazy, not counting to 23! Just counting to 4, but 4 things when I was 23, so it still makes sense!

I saw Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Billu in theaters I think, Kismat Konnection I didn’t get in theaters but I watched promptly as soon as it was released on DVD. Luck By Chance I was very late to the party and didn’t watch until y’all forced me to through blog comments.

Kismat Konnection

Rab Ne Bana di Jodi

Luck By Chance

Billu

Overall, a pretty good 12 month period! Artistically stretching himself, a pleasant narration job, and a very cool cameo.

And a pretty good year for songs too, which is why each film is represented by it’s most happy light 2008 type song.

  4. I turned 23 in 2009…which is the year Billu and Luck by Chance came out I believe. Sandwiched between two years with SRK films I grew fond of a couple years later (RNBDJ in 2008 and MNIK 2010). I THINK I watched Billu in theatres because I liked Kadha Parayumbol and SRK. LBC I watched fully this year, but I did see different scenes over the years.

  5. Hey, so now I know why Kaal was on German TV. It just happened to be the newest thing with SRK (item song) when they were starting their Bollywood experiment in 2005.

I haven’t seen Silsiilay or Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye.

But I have the fondest memories of watching Paheli for the first time. It was during the summer class that fully got me hooked on Indian film, September in France, still warm enough to swim in the Atlantic. Intense discussions in the mornings, afternoons free for all kinds of fun activities. The knowledge that half the people on the beach will be reading Pratchett. Still I decide to come back to the stuffy classroom in the afternoon to watch an extra film. And it’s so gorgeous! I still need to get to Rajasthan at some point. And Rani has never looked better.
