Also, to be fair, I could probably do the watchalong with B2. It’s Mr. Toddles who is preventing it. We are in the throws of hand, foot, and mouth disease so he’s a mess!

Is he snuggly or grumpy? I like snuggly sick kids, but frustrated and angry sick kids are No Fun.

He’s pathetic and wailing until the Motrin kicks in. Then he’s better. He’s almost never snuggly. He did come and on his own snuggle with me a couple night ago for a few minutes right before bed. That should have been the hint that he’s feeling sick.

He got out of his ball, because there is a small crack in the ball and the lid got loose, but he is back in it now. And I put some duck tape on the crack!

If the violence weren’t so stylized with bits of light everywhere it would be really hard to take. But it is stylized violence, so it is doable.

The fire would burn his skin, right? It wouldn’t just burn away his mummy bandages? Or maybe because they put the weird medicinal oil on him first it created a barrier?

Yes. I kept thinking the same thing! It is some flame retardant but inflammable bandage?

The bald cap definitely unlocks some sort of craziness in his performance. I miss the hair, but I love the crazy!
LikeLike
His hair is so dyed these days it is just a fake mop on his head. The baldness takes away the pretense of youth, rather than aging him it makes his age irrelevant.
LikeLike
Would you believe it isn’t even uncommon for India… my 70+ yr old Mom still dyes her hair and my dad would if he had any hair left / he wasn’t allergic to hair dye

This is so SRK consistent. He wants the ladies to do things for themselves and get all the credit, but as soon as they are in trouble, he will show up and save them. Did the same thing in the McDonald’s fight in Chak De!

The police officer just scooting back without continueing to fight is hard to swallow, but I guess he recognizes SRK as his mummy man from his village, but you don’t find that out until so much later!

I really want to agree, but I don’t feel like she radiates personality on the screen. She is more than a pretty face, but I don’t know her, and don’t get to know her in this film.

Here’s what I am wondering, having watched this movie too many times. Did he expect Sanjay to be the negotiator from the start? Was that the plan, that Sanjay would be called and they would secretly be working together? And then somehow Nayanthara got the call instead?

It’s definitely why he is so good at the hostage situations, because he has a hidden line on what is happening on the other end and how to manipulate it.

Okay, I care about this bank loan plot/explanation SO MUCH MORE than the Dhoom 3 one! Banks shouldn’t give money to weird circus passion projects, because then they have less money to loan to tractors.

I think of Vijay as one of those villains who thinks of himself as the good guy. He is doing what he has to do for his business, but he’s not gonna be cruel about it. So yes, he will help support the widow and child, even though he had to kill the husband. And that’s why Shahrukh is so important to him, because Old Shahrukh was the one time he lost, and got angry, and had to truly be “bad”.

This guy is so cool! He’s got glasses, he’s an everyman, but by golly he is not going to sign off on the building permit! He’s like my Alderperson, who I love, and by golly will NOT be paid off to allow more construction in the neighborhood.

There is a housing shortage across the nation that directly contributes to our country’s increasing homeless population. Not saying your Alderperson should become corrupt though.

Oh, it’s opposite. We have a lot of multifamily buildings in our ward, people want permission to tear them down and turn them into single family. So she’s trying to protect the existing multi-units and prevent them being turned into Mansions for one family. And the developers really do not like her.

The red and blue pills, I wonder why they did them. It seems more realistic to just have him shoot a man, but then I guess forcing someone to take a pill shows more control?

And, going back to my last comment, maybe it makes him able to think “I’m not that bad”. Because the person took the pill themselves and the pill killed them, HE didn’t kill them.

My spouse was repeatedly denied student loan forgiveness despite teaching of a decade in a qualifying low income school – BUT just last week his loan WAS forgiven! (After teaching at the school 14 years) Basically the government finally followed the program they said they would. It is kinda huge for my family actually.

Was her wedding necklace actually worth anything, or was the loan shark just being an ass?

I think a combo of both. It would have been worth a very small amount of the loan, but he was ready to take it just to cover one months interest.

Agree with Margaret. It’s worth a little bit. Or the gold in it is. But the government officer wants to also showcase his power and humiliate her. It’s more about power for him than even the money.

It seemed to me like it was not his money but he has it because the banks give him 40,000 crores easily but not 40,000 to the farmers? So it may have been just capital he has access to through the banking system
