  1. This opening is so pretty. Just, as a piece of film, it’s really pretty. Sets the tone of this being an epic kind of film with a lot of visual spectacle.

  2. If the violence weren’t so stylized with bits of light everywhere it would be really hard to take. But it is stylized violence, so it is doable.

  3. The fire would burn his skin, right? It wouldn’t just burn away his mummy bandages? Or maybe because they put the weird medicinal oil on him first it created a barrier?

  4. This is so SRK consistent. He wants the ladies to do things for themselves and get all the credit, but as soon as they are in trouble, he will show up and save them. Did the same thing in the McDonald’s fight in Chak De!

  5. The police officer just scooting back without continueing to fight is hard to swallow, but I guess he recognizes SRK as his mummy man from his village, but you don’t find that out until so much later!

  6. Here’s what I am wondering, having watched this movie too many times. Did he expect Sanjay to be the negotiator from the start? Was that the plan, that Sanjay would be called and they would secretly be working together? And then somehow Nayanthara got the call instead?

  7. Okay, I care about this bank loan plot/explanation SO MUCH MORE than the Dhoom 3 one! Banks shouldn’t give money to weird circus passion projects, because then they have less money to loan to tractors.

    • I think of Vijay as one of those villains who thinks of himself as the good guy. He is doing what he has to do for his business, but he’s not gonna be cruel about it. So yes, he will help support the widow and child, even though he had to kill the husband. And that’s why Shahrukh is so important to him, because Old Shahrukh was the one time he lost, and got angry, and had to truly be “bad”.

  8. This guy is so cool! He’s got glasses, he’s an everyman, but by golly he is not going to sign off on the building permit! He’s like my Alderperson, who I love, and by golly will NOT be paid off to allow more construction in the neighborhood.

    • There is a housing shortage across the nation that directly contributes to our country’s increasing homeless population. Not saying your Alderperson should become corrupt though.

      • Oh, it’s opposite. We have a lot of multifamily buildings in our ward, people want permission to tear them down and turn them into single family. So she’s trying to protect the existing multi-units and prevent them being turned into Mansions for one family. And the developers really do not like her.

  9. The red and blue pills, I wonder why they did them. It seems more realistic to just have him shoot a man, but then I guess forcing someone to take a pill shows more control?

    • And, going back to my last comment, maybe it makes him able to think “I’m not that bad”. Because the person took the pill themselves and the pill killed them, HE didn’t kill them.

  10. Oh this makes me so mad!!! Waive the freakin’ student loans in America! It’s a drop in a bucket to the money that’s been loaned to banks. Okay, back to thinking about farmers and tractors.

    • Agree with Margaret. It’s worth a little bit. Or the gold in it is. But the government officer wants to also showcase his power and humiliate her. It’s more about power for him than even the money.

    • It seemed to me like it was not his money but he has it because the banks give him 40,000 crores easily but not 40,000 to the farmers? So it may have been just capital he has access to through the banking system

    • YES! I noticed that as well. It’s a great jail, but they still struggle with too many women in one cell, and they eat dull food, and all of that. They still have to deal with the limitations of resources.
