I’ve downloaded from einthusan, we’ll see if that works better than streaming. But I will probably still be complaining because it is all weird.
Chori Chori
Light happy rom-com with Rani and Ajay, who wouldn’t love it? At 7am Chicago time I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and we will all comment along from there.

The giant pictures of yourself in your house. I dont’ really want to think of Ajay as a narcissist, so I’m trying to believe it is a cultural thing, but my heart still screams NARCISSIST!

Most of the stuff came from his parents’ house so maybe they had their child’s pic at their house and brought it over.

It was a really unflattering pic, with sunglasses so you couldn’t see his eyes…

Do you know who has a giant photo of herself in her real home? Kangana. I saw some videos of her Diwali party and couldn’t with the fact she has such photo and so big.

Interesting! So that diary reading wasn’t a moment of “he loves me!” but rather a moment of “he sees and appreciates me and that makes me love him”

Heck, I’d watch the same plot with the same cast. Make Sonali a divorcee and Ajay the man who has been waiting for her this whole time, and Rani is still Rani. Maybe with some orphans she has adopted?

There is an alternative universe out there where “Aiyyaa” was somehow a sleeper hit and changed the course of the past decade of Hindi films. Or at least I choose to believe so!

Okay, this is hilarious. I thought he was gonna do something practical like go pick her up from the train station, not organize a song.

This movie went an hour with no songs and now there is a song like every 5 minutes.

Just pointing out that based on the many different backgrounds in his “family”, it looks like he comes from a household that has an established tradition of Found Families. Which explains why they were so quick to embrace Rani, and means Rani will fit in well with them. Really Ajay is the weird one for being all slow to trust and open his heart.

And Rani continues to wear the outfit Ajay thinks is too short. Because again, she has to be unapologetically herself! He can change his regressive ways!

Double meaning. He is saying his “dream” came true and he is saying the house but he actually means her.

My parents have just spent a LOT of money leveling out the floors of their house, and here he is building a house where you WALK UP to the front door, and the have a stair case down to the living room and another step up to the dining room. But it does LOOK nice.

I always think about mobility when I see houses split across numerous small levels like that. The hilly older neighborhood of Kansas City in which my aunt used to live was full of them and it prevented my grandparents from visiting her side of the family in situ for many years.

This better be a dream scene because it is way too sexy for pre-marriage in 2003!

So this is a giant fight because he got mad at her because he was falling in love? And now their plan is to get married for real and live together as friends?
LikeLike
I think they are just back to the “pretending to get married so my boss will come see the house I built” plan, but haven’t really talked it over beyond that. Because they are babies who don’t know how to use talking!

Ny niece is starting to talk and it is freaking adorable! My husband just keeps remembering when our 14 year old would say “hold you” when he wanted us to pick him up.
LikeLiked by 1 person
My younger nephew should start talking any day now, but so far there has been no need because his big brother just translates for him. That’s what Rani and Ajay need, older siblings to jump in and say “He is saying he wants a bottle”.

I thought they were still at the version of the plan where they do 90% of the wedding, then Rani accuses him of still having a thing for Sonali and calls it off partway through, thereby still accomplishing the boss-accomplishing factor of getting to see the house.

What if thye are both afraid to talk past the next 5 minutes because that might break the spell? It’s easier to just keep taking it one minute at a time and not think about what they will do at the actual wedding ceremony.
