Wednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking and Listening to the Week of American Thanksgiving?

Happy day before the day before the CHRISTMAS SEASON STARTS!!!! I put up a tree last weekend and have been listening to Christmas music, but I haven’t switched to my All Christmas Clothing option yet, that’s waiting for after Thanksgiving.

I’ll start!

Reading: I just started the Thursday Murder Club series. It’s very light and pleasant and easy to read, recommend if you want something like that.

Watching: Along those same lines of light and pleasant, I’m watching the British show “Taskmaster” which is very silly and happy. And good to watch while doing other things, like folding laundry or coloring.

Thinking: It’s CHRISTMAS!!! I love love love love LOVE Christmas! In a very Germanic pagan way. I like putting up my trees and buying presents for everyone and listening to songs and eating unhealthy food and all that stuff.

Listening: Did I mention it’s CHRISTMAS? And in a vaguely Indian film connected way, Priyanka’s Husband’s Christmas song is remarkably catchy so I am listening to that a lot:

Now, question for you! If you had to choose, eggnog or spiced apple cider?

Eggnog. Not even close, obviously eggnog.

  2. I have never had eggnog nor spiced apple cider, so I can’t say, but I’m leaning more toward the latter because I love apples and apple juice.

I’m watching movies like crazy lately and must share because many of them are good. Especially the one I have seen yesterday .
Imagine a movie with Amit Sadh playing SHY INTROVERT WITH PUPPY EYES AND BROAD ARMS. Yes, such movie exists and Amit is only one of the good things it it. The movie is Sukhee, it stars Shilpa Shetty and it’s basically English-Vinglish. I loved it. I cried like 6 times and laughed and drooled over Amit. A must watch.

I also saw an adorable coming of age marathi movie Aatmapamphlet (produced by Colour Yellow Productions, they have a great eye for movies, I love almost everything they made). The movie is so sweet and leaves you with a big smile.

-Month of Madhu, telugu film, with great acting. Different, worth watching

    – Sari, marathi remake of Dia. I now officialy saw all Dia remakes and my conclusion is: nothing beats the original. Telugu and marathi remakes are ok, while hindi version is absolutely unwatchable and should be burnt.

-Great Indian Family, Yash Raj film with Vicky Kaushal. Nice idea but uneven . Can skip.

-Ghar Pe Bataao – single shot movie with only two actors who walk in the park and talk about feelings. good but but so tranquil I almost fall asleep

      • Someone in internet called Sukhee “peak aunty cinema” and on one hand I felt offended but on the other I think it’s the right definition 😉 Nevertheless I enjoyed this film so much I don’t care.
Amit has more like special appearance than a regular role, but he has many scenes and in one of them he is so cute I totally melted.

        • Its so sad for no real reason. Just why can’t Rakshit do a happy romance movie where everyone ends up together happily. What is this stupidity?

I watched till when the rich guy dies and it’s obvious that something will happen. The family doesn’t want to help Rakshit get out of the prison? I knew he shouldn’t help them. And I was shocked when I heard how little money they wanted to give him for this favour. What happen next? Please tell me.

  5. Watching – Byomkesh Bakshi from my childhood
Reading / Listening – Bellows falls by archer mayor
Thinking – what can I do for my feeling of isolation, how to endure the drag and boredom of life, how to make new good friends, what to do for financial security….. On and on.

  6. Alia on KWK season 8 episodes 4 and 5 – massive cringe. Episode 5 she’s just doing a weird thing with her mouth twisted to one side when she’s talking. I really don’t get what’s happened to her or I was blind to how annoying she was before because I first saw get in dear Zindagi and Shahrukh in the frame made her less annoying?!?! Wonder if anyone else here is watching this and has an opinion?

  7. Kainat’s question on the parenting post got me into serious thinking mode. I now want to dive into scientific papers and figure out all there is to know about why our genes let themselves be tricked into loving an unrelated child. Then write an article about it, or maybe even a book. Which is amazing! I was kind of in a dump and didn’t know what I really want to do, but now I’ve rediscovered a passion.

  8. Animal trailer:

I’m not a fan of Ranbir, but even I must admit he is great in this trailer. I imagine what his fans must be feeling. It’s Ranbir as they like, suffering, confused and with daddy issues, not squared but cubed. Plus violence, blood and arms. Not my kind of movie, but I’m sure it will make a lot of money.

    • Ugh. I will probably see it, but I think even if I like it I won’t admit I like it becuase it seems so much like something I wouldn’t like.

      • I’m not planning to see it but I fell tempted by two things: Bobby, especially because I heard he doesn’t speak in this film, and this first scene from the trailer when Ranbir play roles with Anil. I’m also curious about Rashmika’s role and how she will act. I really like her in this trailer, but I saw a lot of people make fun of her and her acting and I don’t understand why. In my opinion she is very good.

      • Holy crap! If you watch it, yours might be the only review I’ll likely read, especially if you like it.

I don’t know why but I’m here giggling to myself thinking about you loving a Ranbir movie where he is deep and tortured with daddy issues. It would be amazing!
