It’s out!  As always, launched with a big party at a gallery.  Full pictures available here (well, full pictures of the photos in frames at the gallery.  Not the actual photos.  As will be discussed below).  I will definitely be updating my computer wallpaper to the image above when I get home.

And as always I wonder, what the heck is the deal with this “calendar”?!?!?

So, Daboo Ratnani is the biggest celebrity photographer in India.  Mostly, I think, because he has a totally adorable daughter who he takes with him on shoots and everyone likes playing with her.  Anyway, he’s big, he parties with the stars, and they party with him.  Which gets into a whole pre-industrial society concept of work relationships being personal thing.

(Daughter.  She is present at every shoot, so all those famous people sexy eyes are actually aimed at a chubby little girl in pink.  Also, I love her toe nail polish here.)

Anyway, for the past several years, sometime in January, he has made a huge deal about unveiling his “calendar”.  Only, it’s not really a calendar!  Like, it doesn’t show up on the racks in Office Max next to “12 Months of Cute Kitties”.  It’s just 12 photos of famous people that are displayed in a big gallery show, and on his website.  I mean, you could MAKE a calendar of it (I am totally going to do that!).  You could download the images from one of the many illegal sites that host them, and send it to Walgreens or where ever and have them turn it into an actual calendar.  But it’s not really a calendar!!!!  It’s just a thing he uses to promote his website!

Dabboo!  If you are reading this!  I will give you ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD if you actually start selling the calendar like a calendar!  PLEEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEE!  You always have the best photos!  Especially of SRK!

Personal story here, his SRK photo from two years ago, the red silk sheet classic, was my computer wallpaper for like 4 months.  And I got so used to it, that I forgot to change it before I took my computer in for it’s annual cleaning.  And then I was super super embarrassed and decided the best option was to pretend it was a joke when I picked it up, like, “Did you see my computer wallpaper?  Ha-ha, so ironically used and not at all something I kiss goodnight every night!”  But then they said, “No, we didn’t even turn it on because we were just vacuuming the innards, what is it?”  And then they like called over other guys to watch while I turned on the computer to make sure it worked and they all looked at it, and I turned as red as the sheets, and then overpaid my bill and ran out.  And now I have to find a new computer place.
