Albie Dog Update So There is At Least One Non-Grumpy Post Today

Well, I yelled about Super Deluxe yesterday, today I yelled about news stories and will be yelling about Shaandar later. But this should be a cheery, happy place! Let’s look at the thing that cheer me up and don’t make me grumpy, Albie Dog! Choose joy!

Yesterday Albie Dog was making me a bit grumpy. He was having tummy issues that were so extreme I had to get out the Pee Pads of SHAME.

SHAME! Also, gross. Yuch yuch yuch yuch yuch. I don’t know how parents/caretakers for the elderly do the diaper thing multiple times a day.

He spent all of yesterday either on the pee pad (GROSS!) or curled up in a ball of misery like this.

Today, on the other hand, much perkier! I stopped on the way home last night and bought “microbiotic” dog food instead of the “cheapest possible” dog food I was using and he was better, like, INSTANTLY.

So perky that I had to lock him up in my office for a bit so he wouldn’t go tearing around in excitement and distract my co-workers. Oh the misery! Oh the loneliness!

By the time he had worked his way up to right by the door and started shooting me longing glances over his shoulder, I finally gave in and let him out.

And then my boss’ toy helicopter scared him and he came back to me anyway, so I could admire how HILARIOUS his very big ears are on his tiny body.

Really, he is a very good dog. Except for being a boy. I have to confess, I still look at him and go “AH! PENIS!” I’m just not used to it being there on a dog! So weird!

    • PENIS! It’s just so alarming.

Plus, he pees like a hose aimed at the side of a building, instead of like a hose aimed straight down from two inches above the ground. Lots of splatter and mess.

  1. Poor little Albie with his little tum! Glad he’s feeling better, although sorry it looks like you have to buy expensive dog food.

Ha! About the penis issue! We had both dogs and cats growing up, but they were all male. We got a female dog for the first time when I was in high school and I remember taking her out to pee for the first time and it was like WAIT! WHY IS SHE DOING THAT! IS SHE SICK? before realizing that of course she won’t lift her leg.

    • I’m ashamed to say that the food isn’t THAT expensive. What I had him on before was more like $10 for 50 pounds, I should have known it would be bad for his tummy.

Watching a male dog pee does have a kind of nobility and glamour to it that isn’t there with female dogs.
