Or something else I haven’t thought of?

It’s probably not uncomfortable. The shirts looked like they had some stretch built into them. The pants were well tailored but not uncomfortably tight.
What looks really uncomfortable is that Don look. Yikes. Is that a leather vest or a leather jacket inside a wool coat?

I think leather jacket inside a wool coat. But it was Germany in winter! Maybe that was comfortable.

One outfit? Instead of reducing him, I prefer to concede one according to the character he plays…I would not like him to play only Harry or Jug or Raees or Don or Dev in the rest of his films. It’s such a pleasure to watch him in so different clothing…I can’t imagine to stick to one 🙂

Another vote for JHMS – just not the khakis. I like the casual t-shirts and sweatshirts mixed in too. JHMS clothes and KANK hair would be my combo.

Might be too far :). Dieting and putting all the hours of workout into a HNY physique is a lot more work/more personal than changing clothes or going to the barber. I feel he can make his own decisions.

I love him in all versions of traditional Indian clothing. I also love the suits he wears in England which are very different than the suits he wears in India.

He has a stunning pale grey suit he only wears in London. He also has several pairs of charcoal grey pants he wears with blazers that are different than the ones Indian. I’ve always imagined they are bespoke suits from saville row that he leaves in the closest in London. Now that he will be coming to NY, I wonder if he’ll have another wardrobe for that.

Dang, you’re right! I just searched London images, and he has that really good closely fit suit with black tie, and a double-breasted blue blazer. It’s what the best style advice always says, have one or two really perfect pieces and just wear them over and over again. And I can see why he wouldn’t wear them in India, too hot for one thing, but also that kind of subtly perfect style wouldn’t be appropriate for an Indian event, almost insulting to be that underdressed.

Yes! See what I mean? Very different look. I think it is a combo of a) not wanting to shlep suits b) way too hot for a wool suit in India and most importantly c) There is a different look expected in India. He can go on a chat show in jeans in India but in Britain he suits up in a very posh British way.

The UK and India are much closer culturally and SRK makes lots of public appearances in London, on talk shows and news shows and random events like parties, auctions and such.
I think it’s unlikely in NY. He would probably just visit Suhana privately and leave. Would we get to see his NY wardrobe? The suit he wore on Letterman was very similar to what he’s worn many times in India.
Otoh, if he’s coming to the US frequently, maybe he’d be more willing to shoot something here? It would give him an excuse to be nearby his daughter for a longer time.

JHMS and Raees ALL THE WAY. I know these are both total opposites but he is the only person that can wear open shirts like that and, not only NOT look like a sleezeball but look amazingly sexy. And…I dunno there’s something about a guy in eyeliner and a Pathani suit.

I like his real life casual clothes best. Dear Zindagi overall and JHMS traditional clothes (Mayank’s engagement, Butterfly) are my favorites. I guess I’m in a minority but I hate Dev’s clothes in KANK. He’s a depressed jock. He might wear jeans, jacket, and t-shirt for work, but NEVER all that be-dazzling. Ugh.

KANK’s clothes are a disaster, not just for SRK but for all the characters. Why would a high powered fashion magazine editor (with too much plastic surgery) be wearing cheap looking Forever 21 looking teen clothes? Why would a school teacher be wearing thick velvet skirts? What melancholy sports jock would wear those colorful shiny shirts and huge belt buckles? He’d have the careless vibe SRK has in real life – slouchy jeans and sneakers and the occasional black suit for formal occasions. It would be the right contrast with the wife whose whole career is about fashion.
I think the costumes were done by Manish Malhotra which explains it. The man has no talent or taste.

Good point. Maybe only Abhishek’s clothes are ok, because they purposefully dressed him plainly. I don’t think Manish’s movie clothes are that bad most of the time. Maybe he and Karan were fighting when KANK was getting made.
